  1. Thanks for the Ft-in Header height Macro BT .................... Just FYI : the macro's result is incorrect for most Nth Amer. Framers - ie Headers are normally measured to their Bottom so the 2nd to last line should be result = ftin(obj.header_elevation) not: result = ftin(obj.header_elevation + obj.header_depth) ie : the +obj.header_depth is not needed as it is not measured to the Top of Header usually as the Header depth may vary ie 2x8 or 2x10 etc etc but the bottom is usually the same throughout the home , regardless of Header Depth.
  2. You may need to talk to Chief Architect about that as those Drawings are Copyrighted as far as I know, but perhaps Chief's Own Designer of this Plan , Scott Harris I believe, may have more information or be willing to help you............. @scottharris *I am not a Lawyer, however this is on the Plans............. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTICE, DISCLAIMER AND COPYRIGHT THIS DRAWING IS OWNED AND/OR LICENSED BY CHIEF ARCHITECT, INC. 3. Something to try if you haven't solved this yet....... paste it into a CAD Detail , not Plan, ( in a new Plan file ) , UNBLOCK the detail, then select all the Text Blocks , Open their DBX and make sure the Automatic Width and Height are Enabled ( I have found text is often corrupted when exported if these aren't on. ) , then make sure NONE of the Text Boxes are Using a Fill, (possibly your issue on those 4?) , Check all text is still as expected, then export it using DWG>Current View and re-import it as a test to a New CAD Detail (you already made/opened before importing) . A search may find other results as I think I have seen other Posts about those Black (Text) Boxes too. FYI : there is a text corruption Issue in CA which CA has not Solved yet with text getting truncated etc , opening and closing the text's DBX is usually enough to fix that though. M.
  4. BT is correct the should fix it ... but it may also be that you accidentally saved a plan as your template and may just need to switch the default "new plan" back to the default Profile.Plan file in Preferences>New Plan. You can also try renaming the Templates Folder in the Chief Data Folder eg to Template_Backup and restart Chief which will cause Chief to Rebuild the Templates Folder the next time it starts with fresh copies of all the OOB Templates. You can then transfer any template planes you want to keep back from the Templates_Backup Folder to the Templates Folder or just Use them from there if still needed. M.
  5. This works in this case , just resize ( rescale) the image to 4 x 4" ( original is 8 x 7 " or 8 X 3.5 subway)
  6. I maybe wrong Antoine , but as far as I know there is only a 90 Day forgiveness Policy on SSA and after that you must Upgrade to the Current version. However if you upgraded now, it would come with SSA, and you would get X12 in 2020 as part of SSA. IF you wait and upgrade to X12 next year (March/April?) direct you will have to pay an extra level of upgrade cost eg rather than X9 to X11 it would be X9 to X12 and I am not sure you would save anything doing that . If you are lucky they might have an Xmas Sale again on Upgrades and New licences so you might be able to save 10%??? and still get X11 and SSA and X12 in March/April or whenever it comes out. M.
  7. Yes , some of Chief's "auto" texture orientation can be a PITA for sure............. With Drawer and Door front's though it is sometimes as easy as switching the Drawer front from Default to the Slab type from the Library ( not the auto Slab option which uses the same "default" orientation) in this particular case.
  8. There should be an auto archived file and backup in the Archive folder , which is inside Chief's Data Folder in My Documents. If setup properly you should have lost more that about 5 mins of work hopefully. M.
  9. This works for a down and dirty method ......the pic is custom gutter and gable shadow board profiles ( since we can't control individual eave or gable shadowboard offsets, the eave shadowboard doesn't sit quite right...or i didn't play long enough?) Molding Polyline should work just fine too ( since a gutter is just an auto generated one) but will also be way more time consuming go up the gable etc.
  10. it's Under the Railing Menu Item next to the Wall Menus/Icons
  11. A room molding Polyline will work in this case too , you just need to manipulate it to fill the gap and turn that piece back on. It actually easier to add the room molding polyline BEFORE you draw the Room Divider (RD), nothing to do then as it is already there, the RD doesn't seem to effect it
  12. perhaps share the plan in your other thread ( its not a nvidia problem apparently) so someone can have a look for you...... How many lights are in the Plan? as I see your max is set at 60 ......that could be 1 rope light...... ( Re Cheryl's Thread ) M.
  13. Chief only adds the "Auto Light" in the center of the Room if there are no "User added Lights" in a Plan AFAIK , so looking from a Room without added lights into a room that does may seem okay , but other rooms may appear "dark" M.
  14. I would just join and make your own post, explaining you aren't a "techie" too .... lots of knowledgeable people over there who will likely try to help... M.
  15. Do some searching on MAC issues over on the Nvidia Forums ......join and Post over there Perhaps for the best help.... https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/discover/ M.
  16. Well it not really mine, it was BrownTiger's info from an earlier post (it is a standard Ruby command to clear Hashes.... in this case $tree) I used Michael's Method to deploy it originally on the Attic Level but I too have found that Opening and Closing the Schedule causes the macro to be refreshed so there is no need to go up and down the levels although that works too. M.
  17. To do it roughly you can /12 (to get feet) and round it up (.ceil) to the nearest ft Not sure the items Fascia line is needed ??? Note the current formula ii for Eave Fascia only ...this will also show/add the Ridge for example on a Shed or mono slope roof
  18. any of the walls labelled "no room def." I don't see Slabs/floors on those Porches either? I am assuming they are "Rooms" in the Chief sense......... M
  19. Not sure about New versions but in older Versions the trick was to Print to PDF at 12 x 18 ( max size for HD Pro I think? ) then Print the PDF at 200% for 24 x 36. I too think you are wrong about the Dims.... M.
  20. Good Point ... it should never be Off if you are using PBR Views from what *Dermot or *Brian said a while back. *CA Software Developers
  21. No , just use a Straight Railing off the Railing Menu and define it per the Deck Railing along with setting it to "Follow Stairs" . Turn the Railings OFF on the Stairs themselves in that DBX. (might be already by the looks?) M.
  22. Post your Plan if you are still having Issues so someone can have a look for you..... always the best advice since there are just too many variables. M.
  23. This....... I don't remember the "Make this...tool" in a recent version of Chief ? In the video She likely has the Defaults already setup , then she changes some settings in the Render Tech. which are live/instant, been a year since I watched that video so not quite sure what She did now.... M.
