I agree Scott, you can display both, but without the callout symbol.

Very nice system for that situation guys, nice one Bill, thought you were messing with me at first.

Hey, after 10 years, I'm still learning. The program changes every year so you always learn.
-
I still don't know why you would need the invisible walls, when just the openings will do it. Stop messing with my tiny brain.

Glen is a master chiefer. I'll bet that's it. once set never worry about it again. I really haven't touched that one in years.

WHAT IS "HANGMAN" THE ANSWER? Let's play

There is a way to get color and scale w/ shadows sent to the layout but you need to send a colored w/ shadows standard view and a vector view and rescale the color standard view to match the size of the vector to scale view. Too much trouble if you ask me.

I'm thinking, but can't get my mind around it, to me invisible walls won't show the rail or the top hdr. The break wall will do it, but only if it not invisible.
-
yes Bill I'm thinking about getting that package also.

Section views are camera's also. I put them on separate layers depending on what they show. open the DBX it's all there.
-
Well of course that's a standard view
-
you cannot get shadows in vector view unless you go through hoops but you can using standard view.
-
Work for me, did you adjust the brightness and height, also floor of the light sources.
-
it depends on the callout, section cuts are usually 6" but interior cameras are still at 4" b/c it get too big for other info to fit.
-
I have to move the sun all around the model as I create the different views, I thought you wanted interior only. That's all different. I have asked Chief to use an automatic sun to light every view as needed

Bill, invisible walls won't have the beam on top. I guess you could just add the beam seperately

What Recommendations For Exposed Sloped Roof Beams?
DRAWZILLA replied to 4hotshoez's topic in General Q & A
we really should have a setting for that so everyone knows what it does. -
Use the floor material region for flooring, it works great for that.
-
Joe, I can't seem to select a room in section view. I use back clipped sections. How do you do it.
-
If you place an opening in railing it will place a newel post at each end. Use post to beam and adjust beam size. If you place them correctly it will work. You can also just place the post separately as a symbol. For that you need to change the newel to 1/16" and it will go away. I do both depending on the situation.

Joe, you have done so much with macro's, its fantastic. Thank you very much. I don't really understand your conversations with Gerry about the inter-workings using macro's but I do know that it has benefited everyone here, and for the future of macro's in Chief.

You can make walls temporally, no room def. to get what you want.
-
I actually use 4" for 1/4" text and 3 1/2 for labels, tell them to get glasses.

How To Create Stone Wall Through Center Of House.
DRAWZILLA replied to mccombbj's topic in General Q & A
I would still build real Chief walls and pull up as needed or just set the ceiling room height as needed. In real life that would have to be maybe 12" blocks at least. The roof will attach to that and things like electrical and wall material regions will work. I always say model it as it would be built. If your way works then why not. -
What Recommendations For Exposed Sloped Roof Beams?
DRAWZILLA replied to 4hotshoez's topic in General Q & A
Yep, Framing is a kind of, "Let's try that and see if it works " kind of thing, especially the bearing lines, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't and sometimes just moving them works It bugs me too.
