Thank Doug, My question is, is there anything in a profile plan shipped with any new version, that you cannot change by using the settings. Like something built in to the profile that cannot be addressed by the settings. In that case ,I would think we would need to use the new profile plan and build a template off of that.

It's not one wall, it's two walls put together, as I can see. X7 has a new ,one wall with double framing. Nice feature for this kind of situation.

Thanks Dennis, I see it now. The only thing I can think of is, is that a room ,(porch)? posting the plan , will give him an exact answer.

I would have made that out of 1 wall -not two -with X7 multi frame walls but he may only be using X6

As I look at the view, I can't see what the problem is. Is that the sun poking through? Do you have a closer view.

You can do your roof planes in the roof plane DBX ,or the wall DBX for different pitch than default auto roofs.

I've seen it attached to another cabinet, after you deleted the cabinet you thought it was attached to.

So Doug, are you guys now saying that we should create a new template plan ,from the new profile plan that ships with each new version of Chief, and not bring forward any templates to get the best product experience? For years it's been both ways. For many versions lately, I just bring forward my templates, could that be the cause of some lag?

works for me, not necessarily for the Op, b/c I didn't actually try it, but in other cases it works great.

If you need to fine tune the ends ,you can also use the new "edit wall intersection tool" and pull the surface out

OR JUST SELECT A CEILING JOISTS AND OPEN IT , GO TO THE LABEL AND INSERT THE MACRO THERE IT WILL SHOW UP NEXT TO THE JOISTS.

Those look like sills on the openings, just turn them off.

Jon, of course we support any feature that works better, we were just trying to figure a way you could do it now.

Nothing fixes the lag for me also. Are you guys using Windows 8.1 like me, if we could find a common thread maybe we can get it fixed.

Still not catching the I-joists for me.

Havent tried the new one yet but I have noticed for me if the arrow is at an angle it dis-connects easier, try to square it up and try.

When I change to I-joists ,I also get evaluation error

I wonder if the grid snaps are the problem with the arrows dis-connecting. I have mine set to 1/4"
