  1. Tommy, I think it always worked the way I want it forever, If they fixed anything, I don't know what it is.
  2. I'm with Joe and Scott on this too, I use the box scale on everything sent to the layout, never been a problem. I guess if they ever fix it i'll find out but I like it now don't change it.
  3. I move the labels where I want them, then look at the numbers ,and they will be there for you to copy and put on every label.
  4. Double bottom plate on a block stem wall used to be a bug in the program, not sure if it still exists, but it can be fixed, I just forgot how. You may have to bring up a wall detail of each wall delete the bottom extra plate and use retain wall framing.
  5. Wow, there must be some reason for your slowness, other Mac users are not having that problem. I know Scott's on vacation, not sure when he gets back.
  6. I really don't want anyone in the field scaling anything on my plans, If you use the lib. you should at least draw it to scale so it looks correct even though it may not be to scale on the detail pages. Also provide plenty of dimensions as needed so they don't have to scale them.
  7. You could also use the balloon frame wall to go up to the roof and just delete the attic wall.
  8. Try to set the "Recent files" to "0" or a low number. Chief Recently found this problem and it worked for me. Not using a Mac but might help
  9. That should never be the problem, I guess that's what the Alpha and Beta is for.
  10. To separate the rooms ,use the Room divider tool.
  11. Just change your ceiling spacing to what you need using the "Joists direction tool. This sounds more like a plan check correction, if so just give them what they want or get an Engineer to do it.
  12. post the layout so someone can check it out.
  13. Larry, there really should be no foundation or roof under the foundation room spec's. So I would uncheck those. But I really don't have an answer for you , I just ignore the note, and move on. Maybe its b/c there is a stem wall in the defaults, who knows?
  14. Actually here in Calif. we use the CRC (Calif. Residential Code) for residential, and the CBC for all others. They made up their own codes.
  15. We use a lot of those around here and its getting more and more every year. We have to show them on the foundation and on the framing plans, that's one reason why we have to put all that on a clean foundation plan and not on a basement plan, it would just get to cluttered. All this stuff is in the IBC, but not everyone enforces it yet but it's coming your way.
  16. Nice Bill, it seems to be a lot easier to build than to draw.
  17. Once you frame the deck just turn off the auto framing of the deck and check retain deck framing.
  18. Larry, couldn't you just change your deck room defaults to get what you want without changing the floor joist of all the building?
  19. Believe me when I tell you I feel you pain.
  20. Nice job ,but I don't see anything special about your design that anyone here can't do. You can copy your plan and send a stripped down version just showing your problem, then someone here can answer exactly what your problem is, we need to look at all the settings to be sure.
  21. Thank you sir, I'll give it a shot, I am very happy now that I know what's wrong, it was driving me nuts. I had recent files set to 20, hopefully they can fix this now.
  22. Nothing on removable media or networks. for me. I do use a mirror backup using a compact Hard drive from Carbonite, connected all the time. I could turn off and just backup at the end if the day.
  23. The recent files set to zero did the trick, thank you Doug. I had it set to 20. the only problem is I use that every day so I don't have to search for plans all the time . I might be working on 3 plans at the same time and need this feature. Is there a way to fix this?
  24. well, I not the only one, thanks guys, Chief has me going around and around with this.
