  1. I always try to model it as it would be framed. 2x8 stud wall ,as Joe suggested, using double walls at the windows. 4" stucco wouldn't work for me.
  2. Just get out there and do it, we all make mistakes, that's how we learn.
  3. On the other hand, I always keep my sections live and never use the view to cad tool, for sections. It's just a matter of adjusting your beams exactly where they should go and getting your model correct. Can be done if you spend a little extra time doing it. Of course, cad details can handle the particulars . You can also mask or overdraw those live sections if need be.
  4. The reason why we need the foundation on level 0 is that all the info we have to put on the plan would look very stupid on the basement plan and be very confusing . I always keep my foundation and floor plans seperate.
  5. Yes it is, I'm 6'7" and when I sit on a normal seat, my knees are in my neck Choking me to death. Good thing I can't bend over just in case I go to prison, but you on the other hand, field day.
  6. You have to move the sun around to light up each view or place a sun angle on the plan and rotate that.
  7. Thanks Jon, I was not aware of that. I'm not sure I could do anything about it anyway, but Chief can. Chief, can you explain why we have 4 unsecure ports open in X7, when X6 had 1
  8. I have highlighted rooms and this happened many times in the past, I just close the plan and bring it up again. I shut down every night.
  9. I still don't understand why I can put up X6 and X7 on the same computer and X7 is much slower using the same plan and the same settings.
  10. I also see this from time to time and I really don't know why it does it . It's done it in every version I know. The dim. doesn't seem to attach to anything. I just delete it and try again. or draw a cad line where I want the dim. attached.
  11. Just watch them any time you want, you can also watch them on your tablet or phone. I don't think they sell them anymore. Did you get "SSA"? Like any other software , the longer you are behind the harder it is to catch up. You'll get there, it just might be a little painful for a while. Good luck
  12. That can only be done manually, and always has been that way.
  13. Early on ,I asked for "thumbs down marks" and got plenty, Chief blocked me from using the forum but quickly got me back. I say, don't worry about it, there are every type of people here and you can't please everyone. The only thing that really matters is ,your work, and getting it done. Everything else is just fluff.
  14. Yep he add lights to get the final effect.
  15. I gave you a green one, looks like your back to neutral
  16. Scott, did you flip the light 108deg so it would light the ceiling?
  17. It is within X7 for sure b/c when I put up X6 and X7 on the same computer at the same time, you can see the slowness difference.
  18. Looks good to me also--no problem. Do you have legacy shadows on, I have that unchecked
  19. It's been asked for many times, you can do it using invisible walls and slide a railing in that space (No room def for the railing) , there are other ways to do that also. As for the stair rail, you need to create the railing exactly what you want ,on the flat and slide it on the stairs and check "follow stairs"
  20. Joe says he's retiring when X9 hits the stand
  21. New one working great for me now.
