Lighthouse
I'm finally giving up on trying to get my Thinkpad to run x6, and going with a desktop instead. A high school kid put together these specs for me- Anyone care to input on whether this machine will have the power to run the newest and greatest Chief releases? Much appreciated, thanks (pdf with specs attached) desktop specs.pdf
Joe_Carrick
That will work. The question is ...... What's the price?
HumbleChief
Think about a larger power supply (750 - 800W) and perhaps a larger SSD. 120 GB will fill up really fast, otherwise it looks good.
Gawdzira
I would upgrade to the 980 card. A quick comparison of the 2 cards shows a lot of benefit in the 980 for not much of a price change. Agree with the SSD size. Mine is full and I constantly have to cull out the garbage to keep it running well (120gb).

Kiwideziner
I would upsize the power supply, increase the ssd size, and look at the win 7 pro OS. I would also look at the wd HDD maybe use black for faster disk access.
TheKitchenAbode
Agree with others, especially on the SSD. 128 is not much, you'll be lucky to have 1/2 of this available by the time you load Windows and all of your other programs. Graham
