Michael_Gia
I want to achieve this style railing. This is what I have created so far. How to get the spindles to go horizontal? If I apply a horizontal tube railing style from the catalogue it does not want to curve and follow the staircase. Is there a style of railing in the catalog that can produce a horizontal 1/2” tube that spirals to follow a spiral staircase like this?
ericepv
In the 'Railing' tab of your DBX,select 'Open with Middle Raii'. From there you can select the specifics if the middle rail.
DBCooper
Eric's solution will only give you 2 rails. If you want more, you will probably have to use a "panel symbol" for your railing. Panels will look terrible with the straight segments though since Chief can't seem to make them curve to follow the stair. You might be able to get slightly better results by setting your newel spacing to be 2" and your newel height to 0" to fool the program into making 2" segments instead of 8' ones. Not to code yet but maybe close enough to give the client a visual.
Rookie65
Maybe try as a panel with cable railings and make the cables thick? Don't know if it will follow the curve, as I didn't try it.

Joe_Carrick
Molding Polylines might work. I'm not sure but it's worth a try.

Was able to approximate the look of curved panel infill by setting newel spacing to 12" o.c. and then setting the newel thickness to 1/16" so that they disappear (material can be set to "air"). Not sure about actual guard post placement. Maybe manually? Anyways, maybe you can finesse to make work...
JKEdmo
Ok, here's some more: I made a duplicate of the stair and then tweaked it to show posts only. In other words, two stairs on top of each other with different settings to achieve the desired look. Not sure if this is Chief "pure", but my best attempt.
robdyck
uncheck auto height. Adjust middle rail down. copy the stair and paste-in-place. adjust middle rail up.
Renerabbitt
You can curve panels very easily by converting them to a cabinet door and then applying them to a boxless cabinet and then reconverting to a millwork symbol. The whole process only takes a few minutes
