After 2 restarts (not sure if anything changed there) and a night's sleep, today I feel everything looks normal again. It is 531.18 which has the CPU bug, though Chief in of itself may not trigger it though, it is mostly being seen after the Nvidia Driver is used in a 3D application , so most reports are from Gamers. Thank you Geforce Experience, will alert you to new Drivers , if you let it install with any new Driver ...you may already have it perhaps? but personally I don't use it and don't let it install, as I don't use any of it's other Features and being a Computer Enthusiast, I like to look after my own systems, and like to do a bit of research 1st to make sure the Driver is a "good" Version. Personally I have not found any difference in GR or Studio Drivers , in Chief or while doing some occasional gaming, and as far as I know Chief does not take advantage of any of the Studio Driver Enhancements that other 3D products like Blender and Maya do/can use. Chief , shows you the Driver in Use, in Preferences > Render > Video Card Status > Driver Version : ( last 5 digits are the Driver No# ) You can also right Click you Desktop and open the Nvidia Control Panel ( on Win 11 click Show more options 1st ) and in the bottom left Corner you will see "System Information" click it, and the DBX will show all the System info, the Driver No# being the 1st one. * Last Driver version NOT shown in pics above..... A game ready driver may not have a hot fix that a previous game ready driver had, it may have come from a different code branch line which did not have the hot fix applied. The studio drivers are all pulled from main and then tested for stability, if a previous studio driver had a hot fix, all future studio drivers will as well. Also, the studio drivers are tested more thoroughly and provided to all Nvidia partners to test and respond if there are any issues found. This is not done with the game ready drivers. Kbird1 Posted February 6 Author Share Posted February 6 Just a FYI I have gone back to 545.92 of the Game ready Driver as newer Versions ( 546.xx 551.xx) are cause graphical anomalies is Chief and Other Apps for me at least.
