  1. Using the scale macro in plan view is what I do. However as Glenn mentioned, it will probably be off a little due to the resolution of the monitor but it will give you a very good idea if everything will be legible when printing.
  2. Lisa, I could probably help you with this but not on this forum. I would rather show you online using Skype if you have it. Feel free to call me if you wish. 832-754-6160 (cell). BTW, I wouldn't charge for this.
  3. If you want me to tell you how to use it, call me 832-754-6160. It's easier to explain over the phone or online than for me to type it all out here.
  4. I personally haven't used that feature in years for there is always a lot of clean up. I'll generally trace the DWG. Chief's walls will follow the lines if you use the AltQ correctly.
  5. Are you talking about importing a PDF or a DWG? Either way yes. Yes you could trace either one.
  6. In these situations, I normally do a molding polyline (manually) and place a break where I want it to return and then move the end into the wall to create the return.
  7. Why not get an actual survey done by a survey company with their stamp?
  8. Try opening the wall type and remove the house wrap layer. See if that does better. Before you try that though, try measuring the thickness of each one of those exterior walls and see if they are the same. Be sure you're using the default dimension rounding of 1/16". If they are 1/16" off, then deleting the house wrap layer of the wall type and it will probably fix it. This is/was an anomaly that would happen once in a blue moon. I was told that they fixed this problem but I help one person last year that had this problem. It almost never happens but it can. I have that layer deleted in my profile plan so I never see this problem. Just a thought.
  9. I saw something today saying that as of tomorrow, you have to sign in to the SketchUp community to down load anything.
  10. I was thinking this too but waiting to see if anyone would suggest this. You'll probably need to reposition the windows and do some workarounds for the bottom and possibly ceiling.
  11. I use cad detail from view in almost every plan and don't ever have issues but I'm doing cad to view from a vector view.
  12. Ronnie, if you have Skype, I could explain you online and get you situated out. You could call me at 832-754-6160.
  13. As mentioned from me earlier, I never have the layout box label show in my layout when sending anything to the layout. I guess for the reason mentioned.
  14. I don't have this issue. I do however have the layout box labels turned off in my layout template. I assume that's why I don't have this problem.
  15. Best answer. This is how I was taught to do it.
  16. A room definition problem. Check all wall connections.
  17. I think I found someone to help him.
  18. You'll probably need to put a normal skylight in, resize and reshape it if you want to see it from the interior.
  19. There's one in the bonus libraries. It really doesn't cut a hole in the ceiling though. You see it from the exterior.
  20. Placement of roofs can also control the wall height.
  21. If you have dimensions you don't want to show but don't necessarily want to delete, as an option, you could create a new layer named "dimensions off" or something and place those dimensions you don't want to see on that layer. Turn off that layer. Just a thought.
  22. Anyone familiar with doing plans in this area?
  23. Or go to an archive file that doesn't give that error and start from there.
  24. Bad error. I would delete that plan and start over.
