  2. Did an online meeting with Joe and showed him some other things he needs to know about editing schedules that wasn't mentioned here which would have been difficult to explain here without writing a book. Also told him about an old schedule problem (that's been confirmed by Chief) that still isn't fixed in X12 probably due because no one complains.
  3. My new laptop has this feature and my raytracing is a lot faster than what I used to have but probably not due to the RTX card.
  4. I meant to say "saved plan views".
  5. Well David, to be honest, I would have to watch you sending these plan views to the layout using a new layout to see what's happening and how you're doing it. If you're using "plan views", that could be the issue but don't know. Feel free to call me at 832-754-6160 or maybe someone here can help on this forum.
  6. If you're sending to page "0", don't. Things sent to page "0" will be seen on every page.
  7. Comment, if there's not enough room to reverse the direction, Chief might not let you do it. Try moving the door over first and see if that helps.
  8. Click the edge of the polyline you want to make parallel and then dble. click the make parallel tool and select "rotate entire polyline".
  9. I've had this happen to me a couple of times. Someone here on the forum was gracious enough to fix it for me and send it back. Can't remember who did it though.
  10. Played with it a little today. Something I noticed is that the tray ceiling tool cuts for the roof which is fantastic. If you use the soffit tool it doesn't which forced me to do a work around before. Great improvement!!
  11. I too use version folders with sub folders of the jobs. This helps me know which version the plan is in.
  12. Simon, I'm sure Joe is right except I do what I feel is a little safer method. I keep all my plan files in a job folder for each job. What I do is in Windows Explorer, I select the file, copy and paste it into a new folder that I'm using with X12. That way for sure your original plan file can be used in the older version. Either way should be fine.
  13. Thank you. Haven't needed to do a tray ceiling yet but your video is very helpful.
  14. Did you have this problem before you upgraded the video card?
  15. Watch the "what's new" video closely and you'll see what they're talking about. I had to watch it a couple of times to catch it.

This is what I do and makes it easier to dimension for engineer.
  17. From what I understand, SSA technical support and "training" are different. Technical support is really for problems caused by the program. Technical support is really not there to train you how to use the program. They have a fee for that. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
  18. I can't duplicate your problem in X12. Are you using a downloaded dishwasher?
  19. As mentioned, don't use that tool. Use an open below room or auto stairwell.
  20. This is what I've done and used for so many years. I'll continue. Glad it will still work. Started my first plan yesterday in X12 which will have a little bit of everything. I pray it goes well. So far so good.
  21. I've got a bad situation and trying to see if it can be an easy fix with X12. Has anyone tried to open two layouts and copy items from one layout to another and then relink the layout? Trying to keep from resending things from one plan to a layout for the other plan. Hopefully this doesn't sound too confusing.
  22. I show all steel and rebar in cad details. That is what the engineer wants and the planning department.
  23. Copied and opened a couple of X11 plans in X12. No problems or crashing when selecting stairs (two sets of stairs had custom made handrails) and opened them. One plan was very involved and seemed fine after a preliminary look when bringing forward.
  24. Downloaded X12 yesterday evening. No problems migrating my user libraries over. I was surprised how fast the install was for everything. I will use it on my next new project. Have several involved ongoing plans that I will probably finish in X11.
  25. Yea I know. I worry about doing new plans when they first release a new version, but I may need to break my rule. I have a job coming up where if I can break the stairs to make a certain part of the stairs wider, that will save me some headache and made it easier. I've been waiting for this feature for a long time. Think I'll download it this weekend and try it.
