  1. Yeah! Now you're talking! I will check out Larry's vid. Hmmmmm, does that mean the demo plan is the ref set used for the proposed if I want to see how new relates to existing. I have talked to a few heavy hitters and we all agree this is probably the best release we have seen. A lot of little paper cuts have healed.
  2. Unless I am missing something, I agree with Larry. Multiple ref sets are great if using one plan file whilst reffing multiple LEVELS, but trying to use multiple PLAN FILES seems to be a “trick” that is more trouble than it is worth...except for a few limited scenarios..... different strokes....
  3. How ironic, we in Cali complain about the hassles we go through to secure a permit, but Joey is spot on..... the hassles create income for us.
  4. I thought that was marketing 101. Maybe times have changed. Never mind, my bad.
  5. If they were super smart, they would charge $499.99. That sounds a lot less than $500.00..... but I think you knew that.
  6. I always use the plan sets now, the anno set is there in the background by default... they have been there since 1837 and I am too lazy to even think about changing them.
  7. What I have done when converting to plan sets is to trigger my anno sets and then create the new plan set and then never touch the anno set again. I know Michael understand this program as well as anyone and if he says the plan view set is essentially a anno set and more, I believe him..... however, an argument for maintaining my anno sets is they can function as a backup. If I inadvertantly change a plan view set by changing the cad layer, I can always fall back on the anno set to recreate the correct plan set.
  8. You are looking for help, just post the plan for him to make it easy for him to help you. Post a small plan, make it easy on yourself.
  9. I thought they made an announcement that we could sign up for beta if interested.
  10. Let me see if I can really start you thinking. Draw a big room. Build a 8:12 roof with 2x16 rafters in correct location at a wall. Build a 8:12 roof with 2x12 rafters in correct location at a wall. Build a 8:12 roof with TRUSSES in correct location at a wall. Now compare the different base line heights. and review this: Use the Reference Manual. I've mentioned this to you in other posts. It will explain so much, with pictures! Begin on page 788. Here is the link: X10 Reference Manual. When you can explain why the baseline heights are all different, you will understand the importance of the base line. BTW, I no longer see the POST NUMBER for a particular thread....
  11. Thank you my friend, now will you please return our Chargers? Rams 11-3 & Chargers 11-3, you folks up in LA are having a very good year. It may be an all L.A. Super Bowl...... I hope I didn't jinx you guys.
  12. and I usually put the exterior stairs on it's own layer so they can show. on site plan if I turn the layer on.
  13. Of course, not sure what I was thinking, thx in a working set I also make baseline line weight very heavy to help identify.
  14. hmmmm.... not sure about that..... can I see a pic of a roof plane selected with a green color fill & a base line color of red?
  15. Hi Michael, you requested ..... "please post fascia problem example". here is it and if anybody has more examples, please pile on. bbbb removec fascias.plan
  16. I think there is a similar pattern in the CA CUSTOM library. It would be super if the material could generate its's own. pattern.
  17. I do not think you are correct. On level 1 you define the ceiling for level 1 and floor for level 1. On level 2 you will set the floor and ceiling for level 2. I believe I am correct unless I am missing something. If you are trying to define the floor for level 2, you must be on level 2.
  18. It looks like you are do8ng default settings for first floor, try second flooor or post plan
