It appears as you might have stretch to fit selected. Maybe turn that off and define a Scale. If not post your plan.

This was posted just last week. Not sure if you all saw it or not, there is a link to a video that Adrean did :
-
I tried to record but had audio issues at the beginning and end so did not bother posting but I think we will likely have another workshop after people all play with this idea a bit more. My take would be to use points in a grid pattern for the existing terrain and then delete them (after making a cad detail from view of the original) as modifications are made in reconstruction areas.

Sounds like the issue may come if both windows are not the same before mulling. But if you reset the offset after mulling it should stick when you select "Show Component Labels".
-
I took a look at your plan and fixed a few things and identified a few other issues. Maybe we could work on it a bit together tomorrow. Send me a PM and maybe we could do a Skype session in the afternoon.

Very Nice Rich, I would usually use a 10' grid on a large lot that does not need pinpoint accuracy and a 3' grid on a smaller lot or something that needs to be precise. 12.5' seems to have worked fine for your example. 2500 sq. ft. of paradise eh. Chief does work for terrains but I just wish it was a little easier to figure out the rules and control the variables.

It seems to grey out but maintain the settings of the Mulled Window Offsets for me when selecting "Show Component Labels". Not quite sure what might be different for you. Do you care to post the plan or are you able to reproduce in a sample plan?

Default position is almost top right of your 3D view toolbar and it looks like this place your cursor on it and press F1.
-
Alan, Do you have an illustration or rendering from another application of what you are trying to achieve or is it an original idea?
-
Alan, Joe is correct and also not correct, it depends on the "Material" if you can come up with a wireframe material it will work. I know lattice works as a wall material so you just need a custom lattice - wireframeish material.

If you are using Barn doors from the CA library the "Reverse Symbol" option works nicely for open and close.
-
Not so sure messing with the schedule will help any. You just need to select the door or window and go to the Label tab and adjust the offsets or group select as Dermot suggested. Once you are happy with the position set it in defaults so it will work automatically next time. Pictured is Y -12" , X 8"

I did not have time for a video today but here are some X8 files that might be helpful. You can copy and paste from my test plan or use the library files to create your own doors in your plan. These are individual doors as I originally suggested that can be mulled together after bumping them together with the Ignore Casing setting selected as pictured. Hope this helps. If it does send me a PM next week and I will give you a private demo so you will know how to do it yourself next time. Edit: It is actually not necessary to have individual doors as this works fine with a normal double door, but now I have to figure out how you did your illustration. Not familiar with all the HP spectra specifications but it is unlikely that the Render settings are the same as you are running with your Alienware System. Worth investigating.. It seems this is an issue for me as well and likely why users are constantly upgrading trying to find a solution to the slowness. Raytracing is the only function within Chief that pushes my CPU and I really wish all the other times that I wait for the little blue circle the CPU could be allowed to work and find a solution.

Thanks Larry, That seems like as good a recommendation as any, since you are a returning customer and possibly have no experience with Warranty or Tech Support is good. I went for the 1070 based on your experience and my limited budget opting for as much memory as possible and not the all the extra expensive clock speed. I will let you all know how it is when installed. -
If plan speed is not an issue for you and you need to be able to clearly see your illustration in a live view of layout, zoom way way in and hit refresh as the quality seems to be based on screen resolution. Hope that is the situation you are dealing with and is helpful.
-
Yup that could work but now that I have fooled with it a bit I think I personally would use the pitch following features of a modified lookout. The drawback being that it will not show in your wall detail and would have to be filled in with cad.
-
Michael, What is the trick to the second rotation? I loose that ability in elevation view after rotating in plan view with a wall stud. Can't wait to see the video....
-
That is strange Curt, I only get that when I am purposely offline but I am hard wired like Perry. If you cant sort it out it might be a question for tech.
-
I think I understand your question but am confused by the illustration as they are not matching for me but I think this could only be achieved with manual framing with polyline solids, and would be a lot of work to make it display properly in all views. Hoping that someone might have a better answer for you.

Graham, Thank you so much for the time you have put into this project and I am hoping Chief Architect will take a serious look at this so we can all continue to build larger more detailed plans without crashing our systems or having plan files that are totally unmanageable. Still cant imagine what kind of a computer you would require to build a fully detailed 30 floor building when you can choke a entry level gaming system with a 20,000 sq ft ranch.

Larry, Did you purchase EVGA again ? They seem to have a good reputation for Warranty and Tech Support. Can you confirm that? Don't forget to update your Signature. Good to know. I ordered mine today. -
Scott, That is a pretty crazy trip hazard on the stairs in the first example. Check your flatten pad setting and see if that is not saving consistently or maybe you could pay Lew's friend.

Johnny, Not so sure Mark makes videos but maybe he would post a test plan for you or comment on this video that Michael did if there are differences. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7XOtk9-mwA
