  1. Ahhhhh..... The Rose called S.A.M. Way too dry (droll by the bridge troll)
  2. Hey Scott, You shouldn't post anymore until you learn toy spell IAE, a Rose by any other name is still a Rose.
  3. Perry's right. There are several other Plan Templates that can be used as starting points. Personally, I created a folder in which I save all my modified Plan Templates. One of those is my Default but all of them have been modified from time to time to match my standards, including CAD Details, Schedules, Camera Views, etc. Scott's Plan_1 really isn't any different. He uses it as a place to start his projects and so it's really his Default Template even if he doesn't think it is. Just because it isn't in the Chief Template folder doesn't mean it's not a Template.
  4. Scott, You are absolutely correct - and normally you are right on and extremely helpful. In fact I gained some value from the response in the thread where I dinged you. The ding was for your negative comment of my solution to the arch. I think it's always valid to show another way of doing something but I try not to denigrate someone else's method of doing something. Helping is good, and you do it very well. Just remember that it's not a contest.
  5. I throw a Curve, Fast Ball and a Slider - at least I used to. I'm not sure if I can throw a Fast Ball anymore.
  6. I just want the Time Viewer Remote. I could just look at the Stock Report for tomorrow, next week, next month and invest accordingly. Then I wouldn't have to deal with clients, engineers, plan checkers, inspectors or programmers. I could devote almost all my time to Golf and my Wife - but I would have to do it in the reverse order.
  7. Perry, What Glenn is saying is that while you can't change the text itself, you can select another Font, change the Size, Color and other Attributes so that all the selected Text boxes will have the same formatting. ie: They will retain their individual words but they will all be the same Font, Color, Size, etc.
  8. Hey Perry, How about just exporting your Elevation Layerset and posting it. Oh, I just noticed that you can only export ALL LAYERSETS and I don't know if anyone would be willing to share all of their Layersets. Actually, I would not want to get all of Scott's Layersets..... I think he has about 500. Every time I watched one of his videos where he was showing use of Annosets and Layersets my head starts to spin ;)
  9. Glenn, You are correct: For regular Text, use Custom Text Style. For Rich Text just select the Font and enter the point size. Nothing else is required.
  10. I can do this as well - just check "Custom Text Size" and everything becomes editable.
  11. I think it's basically a situation where if the text is different, everything is disabled. It would be nice if you could edit the text size and/or color - but what if one of the RT's has multiple text sizes?
  12. Assuming that you print the layout to PDF, that will work just fine - it won't be removable by anyone.
  13. BTW, I use the Nuance PDF Converter. It does have fairly extensive Watermark capabilities, including converting any image to a watermark that can be applied with whatever opacity you want. It's simply an overlay applied to the full area of your PDF. GIF's or PNG images with transparency work best.
  14. I think that is a job for Photoshop or a similar graphics editor using a special font. Maybe a PDF Editior could do it as well.
  15. Scott, I get that but when one wall is closer than another, I want different line weights. I also want the edges of the eaves to be heavier. Using a heavier line weight for Walls, Normal for example doesn't do just the vertical edges but also the bottom of the stucco or siding. IOW, I am somewhat like JPC - where is he anyway - in that I want my drawings to be a bit more artistic. The edges of things that are closer should be heavier than similar objects that are further away.
  16. Perry, Could you post a pic of your best Elevation using your Annoset?
  17. Here's the pic using a Cabinet and a Valance
  18. See my reply in your other thread
  19. Greg, For the Arch, I'd use an Arched Valance (Diamond Cabinets #AV60) and adjust the Width, Depth and Thickness. No need to reinvent the wheel
  20. The answer to the second question would be a Cabinet with a Tub Symbol defined to recess into the Counter Top.
  21. I'm never satisfied with the line weights sent to layout for Elevations and Sections. If I simply send an Elevation to Layout then I have to draw over certain lines with heavier cad lines in order to get emphasis (eaves, wall edges, etc). Subsequent changes to the Plan can make those extra CAD lines be misleading. OTOH, if I do a View to CAD I can edit the line weights directly and then send that to Layout but any subsequent changes in the Plan are not reflected in the CAD View. I could also edit the Section View Layerset to specify heavier lines, but that's not nearly as sophisticated a result. How do you deal with this problem - or do you worry about it at all?
  22. There are Downspouts in the Library. Just do a search.
  23. I suspect that's what I did. It only happened on one of my computers and it may have been a shortcut on that system. I'll check it tomorrow.
  24. OK guys, somehow "Show Line Weights" got turned off. Is there a hotkey for this? I know I didn't go into the menu and do that.
  25. I've never had this problem before. I can't get any CAD lines to show as a heavier line weight. I can change the color but not the weight. Someone PLEASE tell me what I'm doing wrong.
