  1. I would use the Window Snipping Tool to create the picture.
  2. Make sure you only have one Wall Schedule. The easiest way to do this is to put the Schedule in a CAD Detail and just send that to Layout. I generally don't put the Schedules in the actual view unless it's specific to only that view.
  3. I use a similar method. But I've stored my notes as Rich Text in my user Library. They are in folders by material type.so it's easy to find what I want and locate and add an arrow to point to the object. One of those Library notes actually retrieves the Object's Label - if it's cut in section like a framing member, etc.
  4. Edit the Room's Ceiling Finish to provide an Air Gap and Framing.
  5. I have mine on automatic pay. It avoids this sort of problem and you can still cancel at any time in the future.
  6. Primarily because Chief is much more flexible. That of course makes it more difficult to set up to do what you want.
  7. If you name your SPV's in the Porject Browser the they can easily be labeled in Layout using built-in macros. I never Label in Plan Views, only in Layout Boxes.
  8. Make: Floor Level 0 = Foundation Plan Floor Level 1 = Basement Plan Floor Level 2 = First/Main Floor Plan Floor Level 3 = Second Floor Plan Floor Level 4 = Attic Plan (typically only a 1/16 " ceiling height) it's just a matter of the name. The advantage is that you have completely separate Foundation & Attic Plans
  9. Yes, just open that file and save as (append the date to the name). That way you can always know what version you are using.
  10. Then maybe he's just doing too many passes. I can't imagin a Ray Trace taking 3 minutes on an RTX 5060. Something is wrong.
  11. Those numbers seem like CPU Ray Tracing. Are you sure you have the computer set up to use the GPU?
  12. I'd use a "Polyline Sidewalk". That's much more editable, allowing breaks, fillets, etc.
  13. You can setup Dropbox (or OneDrive) to run a backup of specific folders at the designated time.
  14. Use a continuous (multi-segment line) and convert it to a Molding Polyline
  15. If it's too expensive for you then it isn't the right software for you.
  16. I don't know what the limit is. You can have multiple "Profiles" with at least 10 "Pages" and each button can have 32 actions which depending on the action can have additional "Pages" or actions which include "Folders". So for practical purposes there's no limit. It's extremely flexible in how you set it up. My preference is to utilize multiple "Profiles" even within Chief.
  17. Make sure the line style of the polyline is 0 thickness. You may have to redefine it.
  18. In the Window Schedule dbx, Include "Doors, Pocket Doors". This will however include all Pocket Doors. You might be able to limit that by using a door schedulte that only includes that floor.
  19. Here's a link to my StreamDeck setup. Actually I've made a lot of refinements over the last 3 years. It's even better now and it's still only $200. Almost all buttons are matches of Chief's Toolbar icons.
  20. I use a system for my Layout Page Labels that's pretty simple: G-# (General) A-# (Architectural) S-# (Structural) M-# (Mechanical) E-# (Electrical) P-# (Plumbing) If you use a different system (sub categories, etc) please post yours & explain why.
  21. I suggest you try the Home Designer version first. It's not as expensive as Premier but has most of the features you need. Then once you are satisfied with it you cn upgrade to Premier. Just understand that Premier is the Professional version which is for users that make a living with it.
  22. In order to prevent missing data in a printed set of plans (labels, notes, etc) caused by macros that haven't executed: Do this: In the Layout Drawing Sheet Setup dialog click Remember Print Settings after Printing Print (with the settings you want) Click Update Automatically Now every time you print the Layout the macros (both Plan and Layout) will properly execute. If you find there's one that doesn't then it's a problem with the macro itself. I had a couple that I had to rewrite but at this time I haven't found any of my macros that don't work correctly. You'll need to follow this procedure for all of your Layouts - but as long as you "save" the Layout it will be persistent every time you open that Layout. It will also insure that 3D views, linestyles, etc are correct in the printed output.
  23. It's also very important to shut down and re-start - just in case
  24. Rene has a pretty comprehensive set in his Plan Template
