  1. Could be a bad something in the Library , you could test it by backing up your User Library ( Export it ) , then remove the User Library File and and let Chief remake the user library , next time it starts and see if it helps..... more info on User Library backups here : https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00001/backing-up-chief-architect-content.html I am still getting the odd crash in 3D in Old Plans brought FWD into X13 , but am now mostly working on X13 Files. M.
  2. Note that I am aware of , you can use Paint though.... short tutorial I made for tile last year: https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/24813-how-to-make-a-screen-grab-of-a-tile-into-a-tile-material-in-chief /?tab=comments#comment-200824
  3. Not sure about the Warranties these days, (one reason to go Pro - 5 vs 3yr ) but I have not had any issues with any of my Samsung Evo 970's or 970 Evo+ models (500,1TB and 2TB) over the last 5-6 years. Might be some good deals on a 2TB if you wait for B.Friday? Amazon had a big sale on them last yr for BF or Xmas , so I grabbed a 2TB. M.
  4. I switched to 472.47 Studio Drivers but the Issue persists for me 462.35 is a release from Windows Update? or perhaps your Laptop ManF. issued a OEM version with it ? I don't see it at Nvidia even for Laptops https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us M.
  5. No , once Cloned everything is on the NVME instead , you then wipe the SSD and start using it for a DATA Drive for things not accessed often or need the speed of the NVME , which is pretty simple by relocating the Windows "Libraries" , which also removes most of the "hassle" you envision as Windows places the Files on D:\ but links to them just like before. Of course if budget is not an issue get the 2TB and still use the SSD as a DATA Drive, for example all things Chief/Biz. or put it in an enclosure to use as a fast USB3 external, I like and use the MediaSonic HDR-SU3 enclosure , all aluminum and up and running 5 mins after you open the box. I also highly recommend Macrium , I also use it to make Full image backups every 3 days to an Internal HDD. M.
  6. You could Clone the 1TB Samsung SSD to a 1TB Samsung NVME like the 970 Plus and then use Windows abilities to move User Library Folders to the SSD eg My Documents, Pictures, Music, Videos. Been doing it for years myself , and since Chief's Data Folder is in My Documents I usually make a dedicated Folders on the faster NVME for the Undo and Temp Folders. You could also in addition add a 2 - 4TB internal HDD fairly Cheaply , going 4TB would also allow for Room to run backups too eg with Macrium Reflect. M.
  7. Nov.10th 2021 DCH Desktop Studio Driver https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/183577/en-us STD Desktop Studio Driver https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/183578/en-us New Studio Drivers Today..... Mick
  8. Please send in a Report and a Plan / Layout if possible , Tech. Support has Checked the Thread and my Video now and are hoping for more reports so the Development Team can look at them. TS has said they are using Nvidia Driver Version 471.96 when I asked, and we could try it or the very latest Drivers as well, but they are not sure it will help. Added : Link to my Nvidia Drivers Thread if anyone want to try different Versions..... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/16205-nvidia-drivers-updated/ Mick. T.S. REPLY : Hi Mick I'm currently using driver version 471.96 from August, but you could try updating to the latest 496.49 driver to see if there is any difference.Thank you for the information and for attaching those files. I'll submit what you've given me here to our Development department. Also, thank you for encouraging the other users to submit their information, it'll hopefully help the Development department address this issue sooner rather than later.
  9. Eric is likely right , if you weren't getting the dropdown after clicking insert macro.... ie small bug others have not found yet.... M.
  10. Seems to be working fine here , so I am not sure why it not there , you are using Chief Premier X13 correct? would be good if you do your Forum Signature so People at least know what software you are using.... How too.... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/18908-signature-here-at-chief-talk/?tab=comments#comment-155662 Mick
  11. Doug , you uploaded the wrong plan.....
  12. Tech Support has replied , they could not reproduce the Issue on there 1080 , so I have also sent in a Test Layout and Plan. They also wanted a copy of Chief Message Log and a System Log , theses KB Articles tell you how to do that and add them you your Reports. These articles go over how to find and attach copies of those files:https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02908/locating-the-message-log.htmlhttps://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01867/finding-information-about-your-system.html
  13. Thanks for letting everyone know .... you might want to post over the answer for others over on Hometalk too.... Reference Number: KB-03125 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03125/troubleshooting-error-messages-associated-with-the-program-s-data-folder.html normally you would be better posting questions on HomeTalk not Chieftalk as we have no experience in your version of the software here.... Hometalk https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/ Mick.
  14. I have reported this issue to Tech. Support , and I would advise the readers of the Thread to do the same, so it is hopefully fixed in X13 and we don't have to wait for X14. Mick.
  15. In X12 you can also Reframe individual Roof Planes by selecting them and use the Build Framing for selected Item Icon...... ( works for walls too ) Might want to do your Sig. too , then you won't have to remind everyone you are on X12 each time..... How to : https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/18908-signature-here-at-chief-talk/?tab=comments#comment-155662
  16. Sounds like the culprit to me too ...... make sure it is enabled/On.
  17. Yes , I was just trying to think of another reason the layout may not look correct if it wasn't the Known Text Issue. I think the Text issue maybe related to the number of Pixels (ppi) rather than resolution of different monitors, but it seems Chief can not fix it as it has been around for 2-3 verions now. M.
  18. That won't change unfortunately as Room Planner was abandoned in July 2019 I think it was..... maybe more news on the mobile Forum about it. M.
  19. Benq has a 35 ...maybe that was the 36" you saw as I don't think 36 is a common size. Most major manufacturers have 32" 2k and 4K models , eg MSI, Gigabyte, LG, Samsung, Dell, Asus, Acer etc. M.
  20. I like my Benq's too , they're 32" (BL3200PTs) VA Flicker Free from there Design/CAD/CAM range , the new model is the PD3200Q I know several with the 27" version who like it too, but can definitely recommend dual screens for Chief. If you don't game then 75-100hz should be fine but you can get reasonably priced 32" VA 144hz and 165hz monitors now , and pricing of VA may allow going dual vs 1 high end IPS monitor, but even they are coming down too. I personally found 2k or 2160x1440 good but others ...with better eyes....like 4k M.
  21. mean? Sometimes you will need to manually update the Layout either with the circle Icon on the Toolbar (2) when the layout box is selected or Via the Update Icon up on the Main Toolbar (1) , Text and Dimensions are pretty good at updating immediately though.
  22. there is a known issue with Text, when opening plans at different resolutions, been around for quite some time but no fix as yet , the fix is to open the text block , click OK (may not be needed) and close it again..... In some cases it will be faster to go All Layers Off > Turn Text only back on, group select all, open the DBX and close the DBX . * are you sure the Layout is fully Updated? M.
  23. There was some fixes ( 2.19) in the Nov.2nd Update (pdf below) that may have helped this issue? I have not tested it though.... chief-architect-x13-update-notes-23.3.0.81.pdf
  24. A Room Materials list only includes what is IN the Room , ie inside the Drywall line ....... hence no Framing Try an Area Polyline Material list instead or one of the other Choices.... M.
