  1. Probably a good plan as my laptop has the same specs as you posted above and it is now over a year old....( last Aug.) I think that is the 2020 Model ,( old stock) not the 2021 model , and the 2020 model should of come with a good discount..... Mick.
  2. I believe Chief "sees" these as Wall Ledgers which by default are sized per the Ridge Default size spec's if the roof plane touches a wall, but as noted this is hardcoded ....maybe it's better to spec the Ridge per the Rafters and just resize the ridge once auto framing is off? ....at least till it is fixed... as it would be a rare case when the wall ledger does not match the Rafter size. M.
  3. Do you mean you just got this ? and someone told you it is the latest and greatest? ........I hope not.... as for $3000 you should of gotten the newer 2021 Version which would have the 3000 series videocard in it eg a 3070 or 3080 perhaps if on sale. https://www.razer.com/gaming-laptops/Razer-Blade-17/RZ09-0406BEC3-R3U1 How to identify a Razer Blade model If it is in fact a year old? ( or nearly) I would start a case with Razor just incase there is an issue and a warranty repair is needed, while you try other things as suggested here...... Mick.
  4. I have not been in Layout this week to test, but are you sure the Update earlier this week didn't fix this? , it has fixed some other issues for me..... the PDF.... chief-architect-x13-update-notes-23.3.0.81.pdf
  5. Hard to tell without the plan but may have something to do with the (Brick) Pony Wall ...... try it without the ponywall..... M.
  6. I must be thinking of a different Schedule I was playing with in X12...... A marquee Select and Add to label should work though and wouldn't take too long... M.
  7. They can be added to your Templates' Roof Label , no need to manually add to "every roof plane" * Edit: You'd need to marquee select Roof planes and add to the Label M.
  8. You don't say how you are getting that number but if it is a macro ? .ceil should round it up to the nearest full number. ie : (macro).ceil M. *if you want some Roof Schedule Macros, try PMing Chopsaw. @Chopsaw
  9. My guess is one of the Fixes required the .ini file to be updated , overwriting those settings/positions. I have noticed quite a few of the "Fixes" myself , so this fixes a number of small niggles at least , but no mention of the Black Flashing Sending to Layout or sometimes saving Elevation Views. M.
  10. It seems Chief has release a new Update at the end of the Business Day ..... Chief_Architect_Premier-23.3.0.81-Win64.msi Here is the PDF : chief-architect-x13-update-notes-23.3.0.81.pdf
  11. They are still Recessed Cans , it's just the Bulb is now LED , so whether you do that with Notes of make a change to the CAD Block is upto you, this KB article should show you how to make it L not R if you want to : https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00805/editing-2d-cad-blocks-assigned-to-3d-symbols.html M.
  12. Happy to help ...and you are right ....learning the way Chief "thinks" ( or works) does help , at 1st I thought you had the reference layer on but that was actually your CAD Imported Layer, , so the two walls were not the 1st thing I looked at. M.
  13. Oh yes there is turn on your Reference Layer and you will see your Basement Walls are coming right upto the Roof Plane as they are not under the 1st Floor walls...(Align walls below or above needed) looks like you moved something and the Foundation is not set to auto reBuild so... There is actually two walls there as CA walls always "look" for roof Planes above them ( or another wall/floor )
  14. Nice Idea Doug but I think having that Video pop up every time I send to Layout my really slow down the process
  15. Draw CAD lines same as your Blue line and around the outer perimeter of the Room on left, then convert the closed Polyline into a Polyline Solid and set you desired Height and material. M.
  16. Did you change the Window Glass in the 3 Panel Window to the same material as your Sash? ( Brown?) , the PS should not be needed ....... M.
  17. No , at least not that I am aware of , we had to ask nicely to get that list back a couple of versions ago when they moved all the Patterns to the Library. You can still import Patterns , for example from AutoCAD through the Import Dialog too if needed. M.
  18. That's what I have in my Library for my Plans but this was a New Project for a new Client ( their template) and I hadn't made them all yet, as I was just throwing things in ready to make changes once I got some answers on depths etc. , so I just used one I had in the plan already and copied it along the wall as needed , which may explain why I see this happening randomly , as I was not expecting base cabinets not under the Top to also effect it. M.
  19. Not just me and you I started an thread on the "Blinking" Issue.. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/32432-send-to-layout-and-save-view-issue-black-screen-flashes/?tab=comments#comment-254849
  20. Apologies for not getting back to this sooner, busy week and I wanted to do a bit of testing here, to try and figure it out, so I used EDIT AREA to paste the Mudroom into a new Plan ( attached if anyone want's to Play ) and it is related to Base Cabinets as Dermot mentioned * , it however does NOT only apply to Base Cabinets Below the Countertop as was also my assumption , if the Custom Countertop is "touched" , ie top, sides, etc, by a Base Cabinet, it will "jump" to highest Base Cabinet , it does not appear to update the DBX heights though which would of let me realize what was happening earlier, it actually seems to set the bottom height as the top height in the case of the height change. ( seen in the 2 DBX images above ) In my particular case, like many others here, I use Base Cabinets for Partitions etc as Partitions will not accept material Changes from Style Palettes, and I had forgotten that my Library of Partitions and End Panels are really Base Cabinets for this reason. As you can see in the Images below, it was fairly clear what was going on once I used the Base Cabinet Defaults to set the Base Cabinets to Tangerine , just moving different elements around like the middle Partition , soon showed the top being touch caused the issue as did the Countertop touching the End Panels , though this didn't happen 100% of the time. ( Watch the snapping perhaps? ) at least not on further testing this morning. The Fix is simple enough, I was just curious why it "seemed to happen at random" , so thanks for the replies. Mick. 21. Thanks for the confirmations , I knew I wasn't the only one experiencing this , but thought they had been working on a fix since it started in Beta , so I had not reported it since we got the Full Release. I have not experienced any crashes with this issue , but when you spent a lot of time, sending a large project to Layout it is decidedly annoying..... and a waste of time... You did better than me Susan , I couldn't get a screengrab , so had to do the short video.... Mick.
  22. I thought this was a common Issue , which started with X13, but I was told yesterday T.S. is not aware of it , though I am certain others have mentioned it here on the Forums, so I thought I'd get a consensus here before reporting it, as at this point I don't believe it is my system or Videocard ( RTX 3080 ) Yesterday's report , was that it is happening on a 1080 and TS has suggested he get a new Videocard.... This is a link to a short Video I made today while Sending to Layout and Saving Elevation Views https://www.screencast.com/t/OR12Yci6 Mick.
  23. Doing some layout today so made this short video for you to checkout what happens on my 3080.... Feel free to send Taylor the Link too. https://www.screencast.com/t/OR12Yci6 Mick.
