The symbol is not on that "special layer" only Chief's Cross Section Lines, it adds to the Edges of all Objects. You can't turn a Symbol back into into 3D Solids, Generally you would block the 3D Solids into an Arch. Block and Save it to the User Library and drop it into each plan, and them explode the Block and adjust sizes if needed. M.

Hi , please post screen Grabs (pics) direct to the Forum Post not PDFs you'll get more Answers and people don't have to download anything from an "unknown source" My guess is that by the sound of it you have toggled OFF the Auto Regeneration of the Deck, which is on the Deck Room's Deck Tab , the Layers are on but there is nothing to display as you have told Chief not to generate the framing etc. M.

I thought you may have, all views in Chief are really 3D Cameras, and symbols are only a group of 1 pixel thick "Faces" not Fully solid, which tend not to show well in cross sections. To make the 3D Views look like 2D, such as in Cross sections Chief adds Cross Section Lines to the Edges of Objects, they are put on their own Layer and that layer is one of Chief's Layers that is locked by Default. Chief does not ( can't?) do this for Symbols which is the difference I believe. M.

Is the mask exactly the same color as the Column color? ( see below too ) Maybe a new PDF bug, which seem to popup with each new version if the different CAD Blocks are on totally different Drawing Group Layers ( levels?) You may need to send it in so TS can look at it. M.

Your Digital Locker should always allow the latest download, but assuming you haven't turned it off the Program checks every time it starts ( once a day?) M.

There is no room floor finish layer you'd have to turn of the Room Layer in Plan View. This can have side effects in some views (eg 3D views) other than Plan View though and it is generally best left on. If this is your SOP then using the Room Polyline Tool and adding a fill to it may work better as you can then add each one to a for eg. Rooms, Color Fills Layer, you can turn on and off as needed. Chief doesn't snap the Layout Box directly to the CAD BOX of a detail (or any view/object it seems), so I usually use my own CAD_Alignment Lines (Layer) and a CAD Grid of Dashed Lines (in Orange) in My Layout Template where needed to quickly Center Details and 3D Images etc on those pages and then bump them around as needed with bumps set to 1/32" for lining up the Floor surface CAD lines etc . as you can see at that stage I also make my Layout Box Borders Orange as well...... I don't use or display Layout Box Border typically, so both Layer are just turned off before Printing. M.

chief used to have tin Ceiling panels in a Bonus Library IIRC , I am not sure if it was available in X13 or not though? M.

Check the Column's DBX Tabs it maybe set to stop at walls ? You should however be able to move it into the Wall with the Ctrl Key held down ( disables bumping ) M.

Yes, that's why i have one too, but my main use case is in the Office, where i also have a triple monitor setup. I have just talked to many people who don't really need a laptop, and budget wise they can get a better desktop for the same money or less. M.

The X15 library should work fine in X16 ... if you have it, though it may not be current as Adrean said above. M.

The GTX 1660Ti does not support the current Version of PBR in Chief, you need an NVIDIA RTX based card , so a 2000.3000, or 4000 Series..... though these days you should not settle for less that a 4070 in a Laptop as all laptop GPUs run slower than similarly numbered Desktop models due to power and heat constraints of laptops, if fact I'd go as far as saying do you really need a Laptop? as usually you budget will go further with a desktop and be better of graphics wise. As you can see in my Sig. I have the Gen 8 Pro 7i 4070 version of the Lenovo in your other post, from last year and am happy with it so far, though I still prefer my desktop for it 4080 Super GPU. Lenovo's 4080 and 4090 Laptops tend to be a bit on the expensive side but I believe their Black Friday in July Sale starts this weekend as do Prime Days. M.

Hi, you are showing Framing, Wall in your 3D cameras correct ? AND have built the Framing if not on Auto? M.

The puck light shouldn't shine through the Shelves, if that happens in X16 I'd send it in to be fixed. You can also set the Puck light materials ( glass?) to be emissive on the Properties Tab i( and turn off the light) f you want it to just look like it is On rather than showing pools of light ?, but you could also try a wider angle perhaps eg in the 165 -175° and a much lower drop off rate < 3.0 eg..... =

hi, CA can Import 3D DWGs ..... but it cannot make them into Chief Symbols, ( it will only show the 2D CAD AFAIK), it can import Sketchup 3D models from Manufacturers or from 3D Warehouse and convert them to 3D Chief Models though, either in .dae or .skp formats. Unless it changed in X16 it also can not import Revit Models .

Renaming the Toolbar Folder in the Chief Data Folder, to say Toolbars_old will cause Chief to rebuild the Toolbar Folder the next time it is opened and hopefully repair any corruption. This is done from a backup copy in the Program Files > Chief Arch.> Chief [Version] Toolbar Folder M.

Yes, you've been a bit tardy on updating your Drivers but there is a case for "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" however you may need to finally try it, as the card no longer really meets Chief's needs today with it's low VRAM (only 2GB) 1st make sure Chief is using the Nvidia Card if your laptop also uses theintel CPU's built In GPU ( Graphics card)........... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03140/forcing-chief-architect-programs-to-use-a-specific-graphics-card-in-windows-10-11.html the 965M card is still supported in current Drivers 555.85 being the latest, you don't need to install Geforce Experience, I never do, and also choose custom> Clean install. Do you have Attics Walls showing in ALL views? And Also have Auto Attic Walls on so they generate on their own? press ALT-Q shortcut and check M.
