ok Thanks so much for responding to my question. I guess I thought it would be as easy as right clicking too however that is not working for me. I am on a mac so maybe that is why? Also the only way I know how to access that dialog box is through File - Open plan/layout. Is there any other way to access that box that might work with a right click? I am currently using X17

I may have imported the same project twice and now I have 2 projects with the same name. The project is moving very slow and I forget which one to open when I only go in there every few weeks. How do I remove one or rename it so I can know which one to open? Any thing I should be thinking about if I consider deleting one of them?

I am using rich text in my elevations to add notes and it is taking FOREVER to make edits. What would be causing this?

I used a pass thru window to do a build out around the deck mounted tub. Now in elevation it will not show what is visible through the window even though my elevation is back clipped to the exterior wall. How can I make the exterior wall/ window and tile visible in the elevation thru the pass thru window? Here is what it looks like now. Should include interior floor materials (mostly white oak) and drywall but no cabinetry or furniture or decorative lighting. Interesting. Looks like you got the first floor to import but that file had both first and second floor in it. Can you share what you did? I have 6 more of these.

I am having trouble importing cad files (.dwg). I go through the import drawing assistant which seems straight forward and has not given me a problem in the past but for some reason when I do it with this latest project, nothing shows up after the import is complete. what am I missing? why do my 2nd floor walls disappear when I do a roof line below.

How can I get the text in my symbols to match the text size in the drawing? in the drawing I have 1/4" text style. When I change the selected defaults to 1/4" text style it does not change the size of the text. I need to print today and this is not legible in my prints. Help.

UPDATE TO THIS QUESTION: apparently my futzing with it solved the problem for a few of the layer sets but not the one I need it in. Now my flooring pattern shows up in my ceiling and electical layer sets but not the finish layer set. and attempts to fix it in tools/ display settings are not fixing it. grrrr... any advice?

How can I get the wood plank floor material pattern to be visible in my finish plan? The material is correct in 3d view and in the room specification dialog box but I want it to show up on the floor plan view.

Thank you, they are ceiling planes which explains that problem. I switched to roof planes and that worked however I cannot change the finish of the wall above the the intermediary ceiling. its coming in as wood? any thoughts on that??

I did that and it only worked for one of the walls but now I cannot change the material on it. Any other suggestions or ideas why this might be happening?
