  1. Are you on your "normal" computer? it appears Chief can't find the Library , your pic doesn't show anything in the Library , but that might just be the way you have the Panes setup? It could also be a file permissions issue and chief can't write to the File? M.
  2. That's the Answer right there..... Click on the grass , which should let you open the Spec. DBX for the Terrain Perimeter, and uncheck Automatic height and adjust the height as needed.... * Note the Text here, Chief wants the Subfloor Height ABOVE the Terrain M.
  3. Older post of mine, but should still work the same way.....using Paint , instead of Substance Player
  4. Forum Message sent..... see your in box please. Mick.
  5. Check and see if Ver.9 will work with the older Legacy plans , I think there is a V10 Viewer Too, but I know the V8 one can convert the legacy plans, and thought it was the only version that could, hence it still being offered. X6 wasn't a bad version ...... M.
  6. I'd suggest calling Sales directly and asking, but Chief has a Free Viewer you can request , (Version 8) which can resave the older Plan and make them compatible with the Newer Versions, you'd also need to, in the Defaults, under Plan, check the box that says Editing in Home Designer is Allowable. ( or some such) Okay found the KB Article on Legacy Plans, about 1/2 way down there is a green link to request the Free V8 Viewer so you can try it and see if it works on your Plans ( save a backup copy of original 1st.) https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00279/opening-legacy-files.html M
  7. Chief has gone to the Subscription Model and no longer allows Users to transfer Ownership unfortunately , Home Designer Pro at $595 , is pretty capable for a Prosumer version of Chief though. ( it can also be rented ) . M.
  8. It's always suggested here to post the plan if you can to get better help, otherwise it is a bit of a guessing game, not sure what version you are on either but perhaps you need to update your Forum Sig. too, as personally I don't have X12 or X14 installed any longer. M.
  9. I agree, as long as there is no overlap the 2nd wall should not remove the existing wall, it should just butt up against the existing wall, however I think Jon is also correct in thatI am not sure you need that 2nd wall ? Personally, if the budget is there, I'd remove the gable roof over the brown ADU and extend the Roof from the Blue Building on the Right, over it as well, making it all look more unified. M.
  10. How much Videocard Ram is there? 4GB is the minimum I think.... If you can't upload the Plan Here Start a Tech Support case through your digital locker, they can accept larger files. M.
  11. sounds like a good Start if Wall framing is not on Auto. M. Previous post for others.... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/42855-furring-applied-one-side-of-interior-4-walls-on-build-framing/?tab=comments#comment-315457
  12. Happy to help don't forget your Sig, then you wont need to post your info with every question eg put this in your Sig. with the version you are using otherwise people will assume your are using the latest eg X16 currently. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/18908-signature-here-at-chief-talk/?tab=comments#comment-155662 Windows 10 Home Ver. 10.0.19045 Build 19045 GEOForce RTX 3080 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11700K @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz 32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable) 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
  13. It actually NOT ...... you have set the Drywall on that side to be a "Framing Material", and chief is cutting out holes ..... just uncheck the framing box.... you might want to Add a Sig. , so People know what Version you are using etc...this sometimes matters.... here's how https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/18908-signature-here-at-chief-talk/?tab=comments#comment-155662 M.
  14. Not sure if you are looking for paid help or Free Help ? you should repost this in the Q+A Forum if looking for Free Help. If you'd like guidance and help for your Projects , feel free to PM me for more Info. Mick.
  15. True, this is the 2nd report of this from Tiger57 , so it might be a Wall definition issue in their template , or maybe it a new issue in X16? doing your Forum Signature will help Us Tiger57 as different versions may have different answers to issues.
  16. thanks Jim , that should start the ball rolling , If I find it I will report it myself too M.
  17. this has been an Issue for years , we need a checkbox in the Wall DBX ( or maybe Roof plane DBX? ) to allow the Walls to build to the bottom of the Sheathing/Soffit Layer, though a checkbox to pick the layer would be ideal. M.
  18. Still haven't played a lot in X16 as far as bringing Projects forward, but this would be an Issue for me too, did you send it into TS , you may or may not get an answer Here from Chief. M.
  19. That is expected, It is hard to diagnose problems like this without a Plan to look at, if you don't want to post a Client's plan, do a small Test plan with your usual Templates showing the same issues. Then people can look and dig and get you some answers. M.
  20. Perhaps check your roof planes are joined correctly, when they aren't chief will sometimes shoot out spurious fascia and shadow boards anywhere from 5-50ft long ( note the green dashed lines in plan view ) M.
  21. In the Shower Michael , not the bathroom , personally I have a Room type made for Showers that does not have BBs by default. M.
  22. Yes in that case it should work, it is the other RD that is causing it to always snap back. M.
  23. These are your Temporary Dimensions and can be disabled , in newer versions Chief shows them even if you have a Dimension in place already. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00089/enabling-temporary-dimensions.html The Auto Exterior Dimensions should be able to do all that for you quite easily.... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/5426/creating-automatic-exterior-dimensions.html?playlist=92 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/5488/dimensioning-basics.html?playlist=92 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00941/changing-what-dimensions-locate.html https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00658/specifying-which-wall-layer-exterior-dimensions-locate.html M.
  24. This KB article , should be able to guide you , you need to edit the Sink hole ..... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01203/creating-a-custom-sink-hole-or-cutout.html * would be a good idea to report this to the Chief Content team too as there are a few Kohler sinks that it's not right on. M.
