  1. I have Changed things around nowadays as it seemed with each new Version Chief Changed the way things worked in the Time Tracker as least in regards to how the Export to Excel worked but I don't usually export much these days but I used to use this Method I post on the Forum a couple of years ago here .... https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/33811-quick-tip-one-method-to-use-excel-to-convert-chiefs-time-tracker-durations/?tab=comments#comment-263978 Nowadays I use a per Client Timebook in Excel, and use the Layout to track hours , so I don't need to do the whole comparative thing with the Plan Time Tracker, as they work separately and concurrently, which can throw the brain for a Loop Using the Layout does require opening the Project from Layout EACH AND EVERY time which I have found to be far easier for Time Tracking , so I waste far less time in Excel, which I don't get paid for... Open Layout Template and resave to Client Name + Rev.No# into Client Project Folder Open Plan Template and resave to Client Name + Rev.No# into Client Project Folder ( My Template Plan has a 10' x 10' "Box House" in it ) In Layout go to the As-Built 1st Floor Plan page and "relink" the Layout Box to the New Client Plan (single click the Layout box and open it on the toolbar) ( Or In plan draw a wall or the Box house and immediately send to layout ) Important: * In both the Layout and Plan Templates Open the Time Tracker and delete any entries from the Template "Making" which should be easy via Dates ** If Needed now Relink the Layout and Plan via the TOOLS > LAYOUT > Referenced Plans option , but the relinking above usually has it fixed already ( Template Layout is Linked to Template Plan Already ) TimeTracker is now up and running in Both Layout and Plan ( set it in preferences to always on so you can't forget ). REMEMBER .....to always open the Layout and open the plan from the Layout ...... ( it is open in the background anyway - see your P.B.) @MarkMc I never could get used to Chaos Software not 20yrs ago and not more recently again until i started with the above method I seem to "lose" less hours with above , but I am sure that is just me as Chaos has been around since the DOS Days.... Mick.
  2. I'm having Artifacting ( square blocks ) in Apps like Photos if it's left open in Drivers starting with the 546.xx series up to the most current version 551.23 which I loaded on the weekend to try on my 3080Ti. Mick.
  3. Just a FYI I have gone back to 545.92 of the Game ready Driver as newer Versions ( 546.xx 551.xx) are cause graphical anomalies is Chief and Other Apps for me at least. GR Driver is here https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/213128/en-us/ Mick.
  4. For Chief and I would think TM, a 4070 or 4070Ti (or one of the new "Super" Versions of the same Cards) would suffice and and save you some cash vs the 4090 which are still pretty expense, and besides the High wattage Power supply you need a Case that will accept one, they are huge both long and wide, even the 4080 would save you money , enough for an extra Monitor for example. M.
  5. You aren't doing RTRT with an MX550 , it's not capable as it doesn't have the RTX hardware built in, ( see Prefs. > Render > Video Card Status ) and my guess is you no longer have sufficient (shared) Video Memory either so Chief is defaulting to X12's default PBR view , might be time to finally get yourself a new computer assuming you are using X15? If you are using Chief Premier X15 you might want to do your Forum Signature and include your Version of Chief and Hardware etc so you don't need to supply that Info every time.... Mick.
  6. I have switched since going Office 365 as well , that was partly due to Outlook and the included Cloud Storage and have not found any real difference. M.
  7. Columns are in the Library................ assuming you are using Chief Premier..... just do a search in the library If you are using Chief Premier you might want to do your Forum Signature and include your Version of Chief etc so you don't need to supply that Info every time....
  8. No, not only on 1 Cabinet , that is a general Cabinet default , so you would need to do the rest of the project manually, which isn't hard to do with some "Filler" Symbols make from Base and Wall Cabinets, this way to can also then dimension to them unlike Auto fillers. Mick.
  9. You and Me both , though I am beginning to hate Outlook as well , it's been driving me nuts for 6mths now .... I hate how these big company's try to take control of everything like every computer user is a Computer User neophyte and is as dumb as a bang of hammers.... Mick.
  10. Chief has a KB Article on how to move Chief off Cloud Services, personally I have moved Chief to C\:Chief Architect as OneDrive keeps messing up my Backups etc, as well as slowing Chief down ( it seems to me despite 1GB internet ) and if, as in my case, OneDrive AUTO re-ables itself after a Windows Update everything in Documents gets MOVED back to the OneDrive folder again. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03132/resolving-unexpected-behavior-on-a-windows-pc-by-redirecting-the-data-folder.html M.
  11. Just make it horizontal out of solids and convert to a Millwork Symbol perhaps so you can insert it into a Doorway or Passthrough. M.
  12. If the MB is only a year old it is likely fine and whoever did that for you can likely give you more advice on a new GPU ...or just ask here M.
  13. Hi Jeff, i did do a quick search on google last night and was frankly surprised ( and disappointed ) to read about all the issues with the 14900k in particular as I hadn't come across any of that while researching the upgrade via Reviews etc , so your post was a bit of a surprise to be honest, especially since you are having to knock 300mhz off the speed it seems, I'd have thought new Bios's would of fixed that by now. At least with Gigabyte MBoard like my Z790 Elite AX it apparently helps to change the Gigabyte Perf.Drive Setting from Optimized to Spec Enhance ..... https://www.reddit.com/r/gigabytegaming/comments/17iwh31/comment/ki6sxga/ https://www.reddit.com/r/overclocking/comments/11cfkia/gigabyte_perfdrive_explained/ Gigabyte is guilty of the trend to maximise voltages and there were several posts of limiting PL1 to 125w as well to help with this, but I typically enter my own voltages to lock them even if set to the same as auto as , letting the Bios apply Voltages auto has been an ongoing Issue for years now with what seems like unhealthy Voltages going to the CPU frequently, of course if you don't monitor things like that you'd never know M.
  14. Hi Jeff , can you please provide a link to that Gamer Forum you were on , as i just picked up a 14900K and new Mobo and am rebuilding my Desktop in my Sig. around them this week. Thanks. Mick.
  15. I don't think you need a 4090 for sure, ( you were happy with the Titan ) and you may have issues as Rich pointed out but some of the newer cards I mentioned like the Asus 4070 Super line are relatively small ( 2 fans 2.5 slots) and only require 1 8pin cable ( Asus supplies an adaptor for the new 12pin plug used on the super cards) , ( ask your resident Gamer for more info ) of course right now it maybe tough to get one as they have only been out a week. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/asus-geforce-rtx-4070-super-dual/ Mick.
  16. I would certainly downgrade the drivers for now as a test anyway....... Nvidia has released some new Videocards this month, so that will help push prices downward on older Stock with luck but what to buy is larger based on your Budget , but consider it a 3-4 investment in your business and it won't hurt so much . Certainly the 4090 is the Card to get but it is not really needed for Chief , Rene is doing things other than Chief, so benefits from it in that regard eg Blender / Photoshop etc etc , but maybe you use those too? *When you install the Nvidia Driver , DON'T do an Express Install > Select Custom ( and Clean install ) and uncheck Geforce Experience so it is removed/not installed. Mick.
  17. It's possible it is hardware related the Titan is an Older Videocard ( 2015) now and Chief has some diagnostic KB Articles and things to check, but the 1st thing I'd try is installing an older Version of the Nvidia Drivers if things have been good to now, and perhaps disable/Uninstall Geforce Experience , as it will try to auto update the Drivers , which maybe what has happened, but it is not needed at all. https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03146/identifying-the-shader-model-of-your-graphics-card-in-windows.html https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00106/troubleshooting-3d-camera-view-display-problems-in-chief-architect.html If you have X15 then now would be a good time for a new Videocard too as I don't think currently you have the new PBR RTRT enabled due to the Card as I think the Titan was Maxwell/GTX technology based on the 10 Series cards and you need at least a 2000 Series card, but these days I would go with a 4000 Series card such as the 4070/4070Ti this will show if it can or can't use PBR RTRT (Real Time Ray Tracing) https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00106/troubleshooting-3d-camera-view-display-problems-in-chief-architect.html#Determine M.
  18. Best to Email Sales Direct (above) but SSA is no longer available as all Sales and Upgrades are now on a subscription Model Only since Jan. 9th 2023. Mick.
  19. If you have stripped it as far as the pic above seems to indicate, the Lighting in PBR won't work as expected as the building is no longer complete without rooms etc so you may need to provide a link to OneDrive or Google Drive etc instead. * I took a quick look and it is pretty badly 'broken' M.
  20. Ok, that explains it , Client should be happy with the way it is looking M.
  21. Looking good, is the lighting under the columns and at bottom of wall deliberate? as it almost looks like PBR light bleed to me , which can usually be cured with a Foundation and Roof on a project if not already there. M.
  22. For sure PS can fail, it why Michael was joking above his failed in Nov. ? an dit took Dell a month to get a new one installed for Him so he bought a Laptop. If the Paste (TIM - Thermal Interface Material) has never been re-applied it likely needs redoing ( dries out/hardens) if not done when they replaced the AIO Water colling , though I am not sure how they changed the Cooler without redoing the TIM too, as the Pumphead/AIO (All In One Cooler) is is one piece . M.
  23. Not what I thought at all, but I wondered if you meant the PDF or another Post and so I wondered if when I cut the PDF down from a 2 page PDF to 1 page, if had removed too much Info or if something wasn't Clear as it is one of my Standard Handouts. I guess saying the Perimeter Walls to final is too ambiguous or something? I guess "Exterior Walls Only" would be better? ( roofs won't build till then anyway , you need an enclosed Room ). Mick.
  24. I don't think anyone said to go all the way to final design did they? or did I skip over that post? I know from personal experience that watching the Roofs build early on Auto freaks many People out especially New Users and makes them think they are done something wrong, so I suggest do that after the 1st Auto Build is done, once the Exterior Walls are enclosed, as it also lets you set walls as Gables for example that you missed the RWD on, Decks or Porches that need to be covered etc and forgotten about, but each to His own obviously. ( experience teaches you not to worry about the 3D so much ) M.
  25. Yes you generally need to turn the Sun way down from the Default 100,000 Luumens used in STD Views to a more sedate 3000-7000 as chief Auto Balances it with other lighting especially on Interiors. M.
