  1. they don't install themselves.......... Library>Import Library (Calibz Files)
  2. thanks for the reply Scott, it's been a while since I looked at the Samples and wasn't expecting to find 3 Austin Plans. Mick.
  3. Which of the 3 Austin Plans includes the "Entertainment" Plan Scott? thanks Mick.
  4. Sounds like a good idea , I have Seen Dermot request older plans with issues be sent in to T.S. * you might want to add your current version to your Sig. as well. Mick.
  5. I did report it this morning on finding it , but thanks for following up with the Mod. This might interest them / you too........
  6. you could Try using Edit Area to Copy and Paste it into a X14 Clean Template ( probably be some cleanup/ repair needed ) but X13 and X14 both have issues for me with Old Plans brought forward like this .......... though even X11 and X12 plans have issues, and not just slowness , Saving issues, blurry Elevations, 3D crashes etc. Mick.
  7. Yes it's a PITA , happening Here too....... (BUG) Mick.
  8. Worked on a new Plan yesterday using new X14 Templates I made and all was well in regards to the Save Lockup BUG/Issue today back in a Plan started in X13 theClient has decided to move foward on and the Save Lockup BUG/Issue is back........ Note the Zero Okb file size during the lockup....... Mick.
  9. Thanks the library now shows the X13 and X14 Libraries too. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/3d-library/index.php?r=site/detail/1066 Mick.
  10. Prices have dropped significantly since about Feb and are now more realistic and probably about 1/2 what you paid..... The 3070ti is a nice compromise now good value and some futureproofing , though if you don't do a lot of renders etc a 3060 is a good option especially at today's pricing. M.
  11. Not sure about every Text Block but it is definitely and Issue........... X13 Client Detail.......... Copied into a new X14 based Template..............
  12. My suggestion would be a Nvidia 3070 or Above ( ie 3080 or 3080ti ).....depending on your Budget.... https://www.evga.com/articles/01557/nvidia-restocked-reloaded/
  13. It was name changed in recent Versions, to the one highlighted, CA defaults this to 6" high but 4.5" is closer to a true 1/4" scale height. you need to be aware what version the Video was made in sometimes and the other end of that is doing yur Forum Signature so other know what version you are using before they answer as sometime answers are Version specific.
  14. Hmmmm, I wonder if last weeks MSoft update had anything to do with this? as I run at 125% and going back to 100% did not change the blurriness for me ...at least when I originally posted that , which means this IS a Chief Issue , as it is not handling Windows Scaling properly obviously. ( No doubt that comment will earn me another Red Smartie from the "team" .......Yep that wasn't to hard to figure out was it ) Mick.
  15. Thanks Robert....... And Eric of course :) M.
  16. I guess I was looking at the Cross Section ( pic 1) and not the full Elevation ( Pic 4 ) ....... it's always easier to see things if you use the snipping tool pen to highlight issues or mention the pic no# What does your Marker Format show under "Display as Inches"
  17. 1. perhaps I missed it but I don't see this in your pics? so you may need to markup the pic....... 2. Probably because you did it manually is my guess , in case like that I add a Marker or CAD line to snap a new Elev. too. 3. Possibly Chief is not seeing that area as a 2nd level? and again in cases like that I add a Marker or CAD line to snap a new Elev. too and move on... 4. Is it finding the Ceiling Height in that portion? you should be able to click the dimension line and look for the diamond it has snapped to something... Mick.
  18. Yes I have this Issue too, it was worse in X13 though and happening less in X14, but that maybe related to slowly leaving X12 and X13 projects behind, as it seem to happen mostly with Plans brought forward from earlier Versions. Personally I have diagnosed it as as SAVE issue .....either a manual Save or an Auto Save or Archive save can Trigger it too , when it locks up next time, if you check the Archives Folder or the Client's Folder you will likely see that the File size is 0KB . For me this can last from 3 - 12mins or sometimes longer but has also caused full crashes, where eventually I have to force close the program, which sometimes caused corrupted Plans which will not open again, losing any work done in them. Mick
  19. might be better off just using multicopy ( of CAD Lines) in both directions to make the Grid, as Chief uses a global coordinate system. Mick.
  20. There maybe people on the Home Designer Forum ( This is the Chief Forum) to help you out (free) with some tricks which HD may need to use if you don't have a Title with Manual Roofs etc...... Jo_Ann and Solver (Eric) are great advisors over there. Also you haven't done your Forum Signature, so I am not sure what you are using but You can also PM me for more help if needed too. HOMETALK is at : https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/
  21. Thanks Neal........... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And for others who find this thread, especially those from Downunder OzBreed Plants ....... has free libraries available here https://www.ozbreed.com.au/landscape-gardening-plants-3d-graphics/ and 2D Pngs and 3D downloads as 1 File here : https://www.ozbreed.com.au/3d-graphics/ Mick
  22. * It's not a good idea to add a color layer to walls like you can do with ceilings as chief only wraps the outer most layer of Walls around corners etc. instead change the material color on the pattern tab ...use the paint's RGB number if you want a specific SW or BM color...... You should be able to reset your default Wall Definitions and then in the individual Walls' Materials Tab set the Materials back to Default for any not showing as Default This may help too........
  23. Technically , in Chief anyway, a horizontal beam is not considered a Roof Beam but a Floor/Ceiling Beaming, Roof Beams are pitched per the roof pitch : x:12 , and it may depend on what floor you placed it on whether "chief decided" it was a Floor or Ceiling Beaming.
  24. Walls love to snap to cad lines ........and angled walls in Chief can be a bear.......so draw it out in CAD Lines 1st , then set the resize about option to the correct surface you want to snap the walls too , ie framing , inner surface , outer surface etc.
  25. Pulling that one bad one off , and redoing it sometimes helps too. Like others, I am unsure why this sometimes happens........ @Dermot
