Disconnect the terrain perimeter from the lot. trace it as it is now with 2d cad lines to show the lots but expand the terrain perimeter way out so that you can see around it including the road. Another trick is to draw the houses separately and change one of them into a 3d symbol and place it on the other house plan so that it does not slow down the file. Some searches of the forum will help with the methods.

You could try Chief architects many mechanical libraries.
-
For editing them you can use the edit cad block tool in x13 and edit the symbol adding the circuit info directly.

Cross Section Cameras to Create Details

Yep manually. The suggestion has been made to place them automatically through a DBX. -

Check out the simpson catalog for their 3d items such as hangers. -
try a google photo search???
-
If you go to Simpson for the individual hold down they have dwg files you can import and use in your cad detail with a perspective view installed for most cases.

Most likely Snohomish County is to blame.. I blame them either way. haha

Which PDF software do you prefer for Windows?
rgardner replied to Electromen's topic in General Q & A
I used Bluebeam revu on Mac before the current OS X forced it out as Bluebeam stopped updating as they are bringing out their web portal system for cross platform usage. It’s a great program and I have heard good things about the PC version as many others above mention. -
You sure you are not talking about the setting where it shows from exterior or interior the framing detail???
-
1.) Most likely you hit an unknown hotkey and changed your saved plan view. 2.) Go to the Saved plan view you were on and try a.) F6 to zoom to all extents. If that doesn't show it try b.) making sure you are on the correct floor as well. c.) Check your ALDO (Active Layer Display Options) to make sure you are on the correct layer set. If those don't work then Do a save as and upload the plan for someone to check.

Glad it worked for you. Looks like a nice flip house or remodel.

Try the "Roof Truss" tool.
-
You may have already done so but you can always call Chief Tech support (part of what the SSA covers) to rule out other issues at hand. Sometimes with PCs and Windows in particular it is conflicting drivers or other issues.

I don't use the beams and posts on my decks and use auto framing to start then reframe my decks manually and set my posts manually (they will set to proper heights if you do it that way.)

Lookup returns in the roof help files.

Layers exported to DWG not appearing in AUTOCAD
rgardner replied to goldadamgold's topic in General Q & A
It works from layout as long as you are using plot lines which is the recommended format as well as what may be causing the issue here. -
Problem right here. Make sure that your rooms are setup to the proper heights and that your walls are set to default top and bottom heights (wall dbx, structure panel, top two buttons should be selected). If your ceiling plane is manually placed and crosses the wall it will cut it off as that is what it is supposed to do.

Usually better to start your own thread. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00344/modeling-a-subdivision-or-lot-with-multiple-structures.html This article should help you.

I would recommend the M1Max for future proofing as much as possible. I would recommend the 16" as I have found that is the sweet spot of small enough for portability but large enough for working on in the field. They are a great machine and I would strongly recommend upgrading ram and video as well as HDD to best possible. If you are using this professionally invest for the future. If a $500 upgrade now seems daunting imagine if in 2 years that makes the difference from upgrading to the latest version because it is outdated...

Globally Change All Interior or Exterior Trim Width
rgardner replied to 3D_Russ's topic in General Q & A
In your defaults you can group select all similar door types and change your casings at the same time. That with windows uou can do the same. For base chair rail and crown you can change it by room type or by floor. -
Use the correct door. If you want it to look like the railing you will need to build a door symbol.
