Could you post a screen capture? I would love to see your settings. What OS? I'm on Windows 10.

I can't print directly to my HP110 from Chief, and haven't been able to for a few versions. I have reported it thru Beta and it was acknowledged as an issue but they couldn't track it down. I can print from PDF to the printer without issue, so I wouldn't say it's a print driver problem. I can print from other apps to the printer, just not from Chief. Call me lucky!

I had a problem loading the beta on my Surfacebook with dual video cards. I couldn't open the program. The error was about the video driver. The NVidia driver was from October 20th, and Windows said it was the latest and greatest. I found a newer one through the NVidia control panel, and now all is working well.

In Explorer, copy and paste to create a new file. The new file will open.

i might try putting one unit on level 1 with the CAD detail from view. Then on level 2 drop in the second unit. Using the reference floor you can use edit area floor to position the unit where it should be in relation to the lower level unit. When you have it where you want it, Copy Paste Hold into position on level 1. Do the same for the other 2 units. If things don't work out, you can undo and go back to the other level and relocate as needed.

Go back to a previous plan or template and export the Anno sets. Import into new plans or template.

Well I'm now logged in and posting from my Android tablet.

I can log into my Chiefarchitect.com account. When I switch to Chieftalk I'm not logged in. When I try to log in with the menu, nothing happens (the screen reloads but I can't access the login screen).

I can't log into ChiefTalk on my Android tablet running 4.4.2 and a Chrome browser. I can log in with the Internet browser but would prefer to use Chrome as it's more current.

I had the same issue last week with a stem wall foundation. Something is off with the current approach; much too temperamental.

You may need to save, close and reopen the layout for the re-link to kick in. Or hit refresh.

Agreed. I remove it everytime too.

In your Layout, select the view port you want to rename, open it and go to the label tab. There you can rename or suppress the label.

I start with a 1.5 inch floor, build the roof, then raise the ceiling height as needed for the dormers. I always build dormers manually. With our insulation standards we are now sitting the rafters on top of a 2x6 plate which sits on top of the floor. I almost always have an attic level floor.

Larry, I can print to my HP110 printer in Windows 10. The old drivers work fine. I cannot print directly from Chief to the 110, as was the case in Windows 8 and X7. I can print from PDF without issue. Windows 10 is a good OS. I have been using since it's release. Where it shines is installing printers and other devices, which could be troublesome in W7. The only reason to avoid it would be incompatible older software or printers.

Attached is a round brick texture you might find useful; it's a radial design, not a sunburst. The pattern isn't correct, but the texture might work. Make a circular slab, or terrain feature and apply the texture. Radial Bricks.calibz

I have had this happen and it happened again this morning. I was copy pasting text items and CAD. One piece of the text would copy, nothing else. I closed and reopened Chief and copy/paste worked fine.

Photsketch is another app that will do it outside of Chief.

I've used small curbs to create property lines in 3D, or convert the CAD lines to molding polylines with a small square molding. That might get you what you need.

Yes, I exported my entire X7 User Catalog and imported it into X8 without issue. If you have shortcuts to bonus and manufacturer catalogs you will have to import those catalogs to get the textures to show up.

You can also export your entire User Library. All shortcuts will remain intact. It saves a lot of time when upgrading if you have a highly cutomize User Library.
