  1. This what I bought recently. 1500VA/1000W at $218. Similar to one have owned for about 6 years that went out. I consider them insurance when you compare the prices against you new computer system, monitors, etc. You can change the batteries out but their improvements keep me buying new ones.
  2. Turn off framing and turn the Floor Surfaces layer on.
  3. I am a creative designer who has acquired unique experiences and perspectives from my collection of work as a designer and builder. I have degrees in structural engineering (BS Rice University) and architectural engineering (MS University of Texas at Austin) and have planned, designed, developed and built various, diverse projects over my 30-year career. I am a member of the American Institute of Building Design ("AIBD"), which provides quality continuing education to ensure its members remain current with technology, materials and building codes. AIBD holds its members to the highest standards of ethics and professionalism. I utilize the latest technology like GoToMeeting to work with customers live online and OBS Live to record "how-to" videos for builders, designers and DIYers, instructing home design using Chief Architect. Training includes Chief Architect versions X10, X11, X12 and X13 for beginners to intermediate. I have worked with owners, builders, designers and architects from all over the U.S., Canada, New Zealand and England. I offer time-saving design assistance as well as expert training in Chief Architect. I am available to design your home from concept to working drawings, assist you in learning Chief Architect and/or improve your existing home design. Whether you need a home designer or just a few hours of training, I can accommodate you. Regards, Charles Charles K. 4. Delete your foundation. Rebuild it later.
  5. OR, just delete all that you do not want by holding the delete key down, take a screen shot, then hit cancel to void the deletions. Charles
  6. In most parts, you can only get precut studs for 8, 9 & 10' ceilings.
  7. BTW, the rough ceiling elevation should be 121 1/8" in order to use pre-cut studs, double top plate and a single bottom plate like usual.
  8. Howdy Brent, You are showing rough ceiling elevation in the first pict and finish ceiling elevation in the second pict. Charles
  9. I thought David Potter helped with that is his video. Did you watch that?
  10. Your edge rafter (in red) is 11 1/4" instead of 9 1/4" like the rest. Change that to match.
  11. This problem is usually caused by one or two things: 1. The exterior wall layer is setup as a main layer in the wall definition instead of an exterior or interior layer. 2. The framing wall layer is not marked as framing.
  12. Howdy Larry, Yes, it works for me. Check that your tray ceiling layer is not locked... Sorry if I misunderstood your earlier post. Best, Charles
  13. You are welcome! Other considerations may be: lack of rain screen or a moisture barrier on exterior of exterior wall lack of air spacing or furring on interior of exterior wall using CMU at 8 inches instead of 7 5/8 inches
  14. Your wall layers are not set up correctly.
  15. I turned off all auto framing and that helped speed up one plan in X14 and X13 (same plan).
  16. In addition, you probably need to extend the lower roof plane backwards or break the upper roof plan and bring it forward, depending on where you want the attic wall.
  17. Thx for sharing! Best, Charles
  18. Not just you. Did put this in suggestions? If, not please do. I will also.
