I'm afraid that seems to be true. Very discouraging, since all has been pretty good for quite some time.

Renovation door and window reframing

The apparent absence of wall bracing in the original construction. Other than that, pretty standard stuff. -
Glass House - Outlines Missing in Camera View Reference Display
DG1949 replied to GCCISarah's topic in General Q & A
This really is an exciting new capability, so we hope they'll iron it out. What I've done is switch the roles. Do the main plan in glass and reference the other plan in "Standard". That way the glass house part looks better. (What they did in your third image.) Not optimal, but........- 3 replies

The default label "Wall Layer 4 - Viewed From Outside" will return the next time you "re-frame", no matter what you do. Another "unsolvable".

Can you create a brick foundation wall on level 0, and then cut and paste onto level 1? You would have to turn off automatic rebuild foundation, but it should work.
-
With the Layout sheet open, in the main menu. go to View>Color. Make sure it's checked. Also "F8" keystroke should work.
-
Maybe an over-simplification, but in general, use a floating dormer when it will "sit" on the roof instead of on walls underneath the roofline.
-
You could add a relevant "comment" (such as OX or XO) in the Window "Object Information" dbx, and make sure "Comments" are included in the schedule That should separate the ones in question.

In Active Layer Display, unlock Roofs, Ridge Caps, and then delete.

Thanks, Chris. Very good to know!

Latest version 21.3.1.1x64 Slower and have had some crashes?
DG1949 replied to zowie123's topic in General Q & A
Pretty much across the board with all DBXs and any kind of view other than plan view. It may have nothing to do with Chief, but whatever it might be, it coincided with the last update. No crashes or hangs; just some slowdown. I'll be interested to hear your observation. -
Latest version 21.3.1.1x64 Slower and have had some crashes?
DG1949 replied to zowie123's topic in General Q & A
No crashes, but everything seems a bit slower (barely noticeable) with the last (fix) update. Maybe a Mac/Chief thing? But no recent Mac update. -
Many notes in Library>Core Catalog>CAD Blocks>Designer Blocks>Notes and Legends. Great place to start, though you may have to explode and edit them to wind up with what you want. Once you do, create a Block and save it to your User Library for future use.

Anyone else experiencing program crashes on the new update
DG1949 replied to Renerabbitt's topic in General Q & A
Agreed! Overall slower even with "small" plans and simple tasks. -
Grab bars, including vertical, are in the Core Catalog under "Hardware>Bathroom Hardware".
-
I think the "symbol" text may be controlled by the note itself. Open the note, change "Character Height".

Possibly create a 25-1/2", frameless dishwasher cabinet? Dishwasher will slide in, "cabinet" stays in tact and you have control over both labels. Dishwasher "cabinets" (really just 2 sides) are sometimes used for "orphaned", stand-alone dishwashers. Just a thought.

Pretty please, with sugar on top.

That worked for me too. Just had to be re-framed.

Bonus Catalog>CAD Blocks and Details>CAD Details>Sections>Hot Humid Climates>Energy Efficient Wall Section..... might work as a good staring point.
