  1. I think it's normal. For me, any part of the walls shows in elevation, and joists, beams and rafters show in plan.
  2. You can select the polyline and the grid fill and create a block. However, if you "un-block, the fill pattern will revert. Alternatively, you can move the fill pattern with the "Offset and Angle" values, but that won't lock to the polyline.
  3. Thank you! Great tip. Kept putting this off till now.
  4. Delete the string and re-do? Sometimes fixes quirks.
  5. Yes, same problem for me.
  6. Solver used the "Porch" room, which will do what you want, and as Glenn points out, don't use "Garage". When you get it the way you'd like, change the "Porch" configuration in Default Settings>Floors and Rooms>Room Types>Porch in your Plan Template and you'll be good to go.
  7. Thank you, Chop! I just needed a refresher, and voila!
  8. Build>Roof>Edit all Roof planes>Structure>Roof Layers>Structure>Select your rafter material (Color-Brite) and tick ON "Framing" option. Then click OK. Then tick on "Build Roof Framing". Then OK.
  9. Very impressive! Thanks.
  10. Wow. How does it stack up to 27" iMac, resolution wise?
  11. You could try ticking the box at the top that says "surfaces" (instead of "main layer"). Worth a try.
  12. Great job! Jealous and hoping Mac figures this out.
  13. Preferences>Appearance>Toolbars
  14. Hi Tammy, Click on a room and look for it on the bottom of your screen. It has been removed from the auto dimensions drop down and is now done on a room to room basis, instead of all the rooms at once.
  15. Main Menu: View>Library Browser Restart if that doesn't work.
  16. For me, the black flash arrived with the most recent update. Wasn't experiencing it when this thread first started (before I updated).
  17. Hi Kate, If you open "as-built" plan and File>Import>Import Saved Plan Views, and import the views that are in "remodeled" plan, you should at least wind up with matching views in both files.
  18. Back again, Kyle. Had a chance to test my Mac system this morning. Someone else suggested creating a PDF through the System Print dialog, so I tried it, and when you create it there (using Preview as the "Printer"), the resultant PDF prints as it's supposed to. So now, it seems to me that the problem resides in the "Chief Architect Save As PDF" function. For whatever reason, Acrobat is just "immune" to the problem, but Preview is not.
  19. For me, it started with X13. But macOS has also updated (before I noticed the problem.) I get a black page when I print the OP's PDF out of Preview, but it prints fine with Adobe Acrobat. I've never encountered this until X13. This makes me think the issue is with Preview AND X13, but it certainly can't be X13 by itself, or else Acrobat wouldn't work either.
  20. Oops. Sorry Steve, I use point to point, not "manual" as I stated, and yes, I have exactly the same experience that you show in the video.
  21. I'm on Mac too and I find that if the layer "Walls, Foundation" is on, you can snap manual dimensions to the footings. When I'm done, I just turn off "Walls, Foundation", and have the result I want.
