  1. Well the UGM is a great place to learn, I was there a couple of years ago. even though I wasn't there to learn, I couldn't keep myself away from the training classes b/c they are usually working off the new versions for part of the week. I think the actual training is for all versions. It was nice to sit in on those too.
  2. I use a plot plan ref set for 2 story's , it's all automatic.
  3. We do this all the time at any of Scott Hall's seminar's, learn something new every time. Try it at the next one he has.
  4. Time for a new computer, just the cost of doing business, old technology just gets old and upgrading your computer will just go so far. Edit , after seeing your spec's it should be ok.
  5. I have always said that anything can be done if you want to pay for it, 2nd floor load doesn't bother me.
  6. I have actually seen a corner garden window a while back, must have been a custom built one.
  7. Yes , you just send the whole plan to the layout to keep it live and just turn on and off what you need to show, it really helps to set up an anno-set to help save time, thing like having a separate layer for plot plan text and lines. I always say keep it live for everything.
  8. Upgrade to X9 if you can, you are missing out of a lot of tools to draw faster ,and works much better.
  9. The only thing I can think of would be to use walls to box out the windows then slam regular type windows together in the corner, but not the same. I guess you could make a symbol to do it.
  10. You can always add another floor and put it up there.
  11. Yes why not , they do for dormers
  12. You can always copy any plans forward ,so you can keep an old plan unchanged.
  13. it's only ok if you have one window per wall, other than that manually build
  14. Scott, nice schedule, I wish every city had something like that, right now I have to search everywhere for the codes.
  15. Joe are you having to shut down Chief and re-start to refresh the macro's with the new system? I haven't needed to do that.
  16. Nope, most cities in Orange county don't care about this, except L.A. county, they want it. Lots are small and would never pass. There are a couple of cities like Chino hills that want it though. One time I had to remove some (e) patio slab so I could do a room addition.
  17. Chief has online classes and there are a lot of people here that does training
  18. Zoom out and see where that line leads to.
  19. The city of Irvine just told me to take that FAR info off the plan and never do it again.--well
  20. I know you have to make an angled front, then make the back match the front and manually reverse front with back sides, then make the front (which is really the back at this point) as a panel. It takes a bit to get the angle correct but possible. Good luck We were talking about this at Mark's seminar last Friday.
  21. Is that an attic wall? You could just delete that truss and rebuild those roof planes and manually put another truss there
  22. I have had to change the key from beta to final release as long as I can remember.
