  1. I get this a lot ,and if you keep your windows high, like a 6020, 24" being the maximum depth, it usually works here and we don't have to do the study. High windows will work but it puts a clamp on your design most of the time. This ,of course, does not work for egress windows in a bedroom, so when designing, you have to keep this code in your mind. Most homes here are 10' apart and, that's why.
  2. in each camera view sent to the layout, you can multiple select them from the layout
  3. Do you have any of the views sent to layout set to auto-update in the camera settings, if so change them to update on demand or just close down the layout until you need to view it. That could cause some slowness.
  4. Yep, they used to call it an Occupancy sensor's, now it's Vacancy sensor's. Of course Chief doesn't have any of those, so you need to change the cad block and save it to your lib.
  5. "Last resort" can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people.
  6. you can always just put your posts in using the post tool, set the newels to zero.
  7. ok ,after all that, just do it.
  8. You need a macro for that. Joe's "layerset opening labels will do it. Michael also has one.
  9. I am asking if you have XP or not. Chief X9 only runs on 64 bit systems now- no 32 bit systems
  10. Try the door header layer. if you are talking about the door, you could try turning off doors or use a p-line mask solid fill and in the front., to block it.
  11. Yes, that is also new to X9, not sure if it's totally set up yet. You definitely need to update your lib's. to get it working though.
  12. I don't think X9 is approved for XP. X9 only works in 64 bit systems now.
  13. yep, I would use real arched openings to a post ( easier to change if you have to) and p-solids for the column's that would cover up some of the wall below..
  14. The only new thing is Ambient occlusion in the Camera defaults. turn that off and see if that's it.
  15. you can also select the truss tool and hold down shift, while holding the shift drag a box around the area, it will only select the trusses.
  16. Just copy the good roof plane and use reflect about the ridge
  17. Basements are just another floor with different walls.
  18. remember if you also have a pattern, you need to change it also
  19. You can set the resolution in the ray-trace DBX to whatever you need.
  20. Could be a windows thing also.
  21. That's ok Larry, my wife has chained me to my computer chair.
