  1. Yes, that is also new to X9, not sure if it's totally set up yet. You definitely need to update your lib's. to get it working though.
  2. I don't think X9 is approved for XP. X9 only works in 64 bit systems now.
  3. yep, I would use real arched openings to a post ( easier to change if you have to) and p-solids for the column's that would cover up some of the wall below..
  4. The only new thing is Ambient occlusion in the Camera defaults. turn that off and see if that's it.
  5. you can also select the truss tool and hold down shift, while holding the shift drag a box around the area, it will only select the trusses.
  6. Just copy the good roof plane and use reflect about the ridge
  7. Basements are just another floor with different walls.
  8. remember if you also have a pattern, you need to change it also
  9. You can set the resolution in the ray-trace DBX to whatever you need.
  10. Could be a windows thing also.
  11. That's ok Larry, my wife has chained me to my computer chair.
  12. of course Rich, without laughter, there is nothing worth it
  13. No, the roof beam is for beam at the roof rafter height like a ridge beam, but still horiz.. It does not slope with the rafters. if you want a sloping beam then use a rafter and change it's size
  14. Try chief blueprint and see if that works
  15. Could be your font used. I use acrobat DC.
  16. Beware adjusting anything in cad will not show in 3d. I never use a cad detail for sections or adjust anything there.. There are several ways to do what you want in 3d, it would probably be best to adjust the brick ledge depth, that is new for X9 ( it was there, just didn't work for stem walls) and the simplest way in my view for 3d if you want that. Try to have everything live, it's just better.
  17. change the material to brick and adjust the "Brick ledge depth" in the wall DBX to what you want.
  18. I turn off room labels and use a macro for the room labels, I have more control that way. I also use a header macro label for openings. Search macro's here on this forum.
  19. the question is a little confusing, I thought you wanted the beam to slope with the rafters by looking at the pic.
  20. use a rafter and re-size
  21. or just save the file to your desktop, and open X9, and go to the lib. tab and import from there. Do not double click on the file.
  22. Chief wasn't developed for commercial work but it can be done if you have patience and willing to create things that Chief doesn't do.
  23. No ,should I? I am getting old though, so I can expect my pulse to stop on any given day. Please notify my wife as she will just leave me in my work chair thinking the checks will keep flowing in.
  24. Sorry about that, thanks for that info, I have bookmarked that.
