It would be nice if Chief came up with a way to lock specific areas of a plan, from transferring macro's and other things, I know I would post more plans. Maybe just a lock so you couldn't transfer anything. I have a lot of your and other macro's that I have purchased and can't transfer.

For those of us that have to frame it, I guess I would use ceiling planes and beams.
-
If you use a little bit larger filler , you might just get that sink centered on that window.
-
Yes Joe, please post a plan so we can all get all your macro's for free.

I would build the railing getting your newels with the correct spacing, then add the full height posts and beam manually.

I always turn off all lights and use light sources and use metals from the new metals in the bonus catalog, wonder if that makes any difference? I guess I should try it.

Problem with Different Ceiling heights in open floor plan
DRAWZILLA replied to StudConstruction's topic in General Q & A
And exactly where does it get its defaults from, Framing defaults , floor defaults, the new floors and rooms defaults,(rooms, floor and ceiling, current floor.) I would like to know exactly which defaults matter. It's nice to have the new custom rooms defaults, but when some are on a mono slab and some are a raised floor, it's difficult to manage when you have pre-defined rooms. especially using 2 or 3 floors. Maybe you have a family room on the 1st and 2nd floors. the way I see it you would have to create 3 different sets of custom rooms, 1 for raised floor on the 1st, 1 for slab floors on the 1st, and the same amount for 2nd floors As we all know bedrooms are on every floor. It is so much easier to just do it manually. I tried this new tool but find myself fixing the floor system manually every time, so why have it. The list could get very big creating custom rooms for every condition. By the way, I always set my defaults prior to naming rooms, but when you use the new tool, it changes the default floors to whatever you saved that room as,and I have to do it manually, I don't think I'll use that feature now, it causes more time to use it than not. Some more thought needed on that tool. -
Problem with Different Ceiling heights in open floor plan

Is this a 2 story plan, if so adjust the floor height on the 2nd floor. -
I noticed Chop didn't have "Modify all layers" checked, but not sure if that means anything anymore.

Chief not working after Windows update 5/15/2017
DRAWZILLA replied to Jason_M's topic in General Q & A
I updated windows without any problems. -
Sorry you have a Mac and we have 2 NFL teams now, even if they are rated last. I now have to take 7 grandkids to the movies today, that's what their mom's want.

If I were to jump out of a 3rd floor window, I could charge the homeowner for a new pool with a dead body in it, but then I guess they could charge me for the body removal

Not having any ALDO problems, and I leave it always on, on my second monitor.

Looks to me like your upper windows have a larger space between the windows (casing) so the windows are not aligned to the bottom windows and of course the grids won't align.

I see a 3 story plans around here with no accounting for any egress at all. No sure weather it required or not.

Scott Hall and Joe Carrick live there. DSHALL and YODA

looks like your default room labels, change the size in the ROOM LABELS defaults DBX. I don't use those room labels so I have nothing there
-
Yes, material region is the way to go, then you don't have any wall breaks
-
Who does the structural plans.
-
I've been trying to get Chief to add a "PSL" to the beam labels forever. Others too like "LVL", GLB. I guess I have no pull with them like Scott does.

it's been many years since I've done a true 3 story, because the cities are so height anal here, max. heights are around 32' or around that height depending on the city, but we used to be able to use a roll out ladder, and it had to be quick accessible on the 3rd floor. We just kept it in a closet. Done lots hillsides but those don't qualify as a 3 story. Those were the good ole days. do you need a copy of the CRC, let me know i'll send it to you?

How about a roll out ladder thru a window. That used to work.
