Everyone's templates are different and may not be for you. I know I can't use anyone else's templates. I like my layer-sets and anno-sets, and you can't even pay me to use theirs, It's better for me to just re-draw it, and much faster. I refuse to change. That would slow me down so much. The best thing is to develop your own and keep improving it over time.

It really doesn't matter how many floors you have or whether you even use them at all. I always have 2 floors even on a 1 story plan, it makes it easier to build chimneys from walls and high ceilings and a good floor to place first floor dormers so you don't see them on the 1st floor .

Funny, I've seen about 4000 masonry chimneys, they are in just about every remodel job I do.

Chief has never handled fireplaces very well, p-solids are it. Sometimes you can use walls but only simple designs.

Must have been a good deal as it's not available anymore.

I haven't seen anything like that in Chief, You might have to make your own symbol for that. A lot of work for sure, but you can use the comment section of the window schedule to note exactly what you want, it just won't look correct in any views.

good idea Greg, thanks

I also have other browsers but Edge being the #1 browser with windows 10, it should work. This new 360 tool is mainly meant for clients who may not have another browser.

You are simply blessed.

I don't think you can do this in California without the anchors going through all the plates, unless you use some "A34's" to connect them at 16" o.c. depending on what the engineer says the spacing needs to be. -

When the anchor bolts are insufficient for uplift then you go to holdowns attached to 4x4 posts to comply, it all depends on the shear wall length. My framers are also very good dealing with out of square and level buildings, never had a problem they can't fix. -
I keep about 3 versions of Chief on my hard drive in total, after I get a forth version, I delete the oldest version and put the entire Chief data folder to the backup drive for future use if needed. mainly the jobs file .The data file contains a lot of stuff like macro's, images, templates, textures. etc. you want to keep if needed. That's another reason you want to put any macros in the scrip's folder. Use those folders to put your custom stuff in or create your own folders to put stuff in.

Yes, that would be great, if possible. -
You could save it to Chiefs cloud and there is a save to disk option, have you tried that, but I think it needs to be on the cloud to work, but I could be wrong. Call tech support.

of course you still need a cad detail for rebar and exact condition, Chief doesn't do that. -
Don't think so, b/c you need to use the export function. Not aware of any other method.
-
I saw that , just suggesting , if you have the capabilities, that's how I would do it in premier. There are lots of other ways also.
-
You can make your newels 16" sq. and a brick material, and use post to beam, but not sure what your actual conditions are and capabilities your program has, or just use p-solids for your newels.

several challenges with auto detail and floors
DRAWZILLA replied to DBearss's topic in General Q & A
You could also just undo it right after you do the auto detail.
