  1. because if you don't flip them , the two walls will keep joining up to create one wall all the time
  2. if you don't want them to show on the foundation plan, put them on their own layer and just turn the layer off in plan view, they can still show on the elevations. you can even put them in a schedule, use a window schedule and just show vents.
  3. I think Eric means for you to post the actual plan file
  4. I would stay away from the Quadro card use NVidia gtx
  5. maybe they are also header lines
  6. I find that sometimes that o paint layer screws thing up and I have deleted them all
  7. What I do for elevations, I actually send to the layout using different anno-sets with thicker line weights for roofs, windows ,doors. I actually have different anno-sets to show different items, like when I don't want to show block walls or fences and just the building. Look to using Anno-sets, IMO they are the best thing Chief has come up with. You can totally adjust the lines to whatever you want and not effect everything else.
  8. No errors for me and the jive is close enough, at least never had any complaints. Most framers will know when they need to align with existing walls, they just don't care about 1.2" or so
  9. when I measure with the disto, I will round off the measurements to the nearest inch
  10. We all know with remodeling it's plus or minus 1 to 3 ", so it shouldn't be a problem to get an even number. even at 1/16.
  11. I would try to print to PDF and see if it corrects itself.
  12. Look like your elevation section camera is not starting outside the building to me
  13. One thing I learned a long time ago was that everything will not be exact in 2d and 3d, so just don't show that particular 3d view, you have already covered it with 2d and possibly a cad detail.. I actually don't show everything in 3d ,only what clients want to see like exterior and interior views, framing 3d is something I never show, for exactly that reason. Cover it with a cad detail if you must. Sections are really just for a general idea and good for ceiling heights, roof heights ,etc.
  14. Joe, does this screw up any of our existing macros from working or do I need to change my macro's?
  15. FYI--X10, you can place an outlet anywhere automatically, the are called surface mount ( any surface)
  16. I updated yesterday, no reason not to. X10 is a great release
  17. Scott ,53? come-on you know it was 49. I have long forgotten everything about X2 anyway.
  18. I like to actually have the walls exactly where they need to be by moving them to not have fractions. my dims and grid snaps are set to 1/4" ,but if I don't want to see a fraction, move the wall when needed, then the model will be better.
  19. I am also noticing the duplicates with materials, I do know in X10 Chief has re-done the materials, but which one do you keep. How can the merge if they are different. They have the same name.
  20. I like color also , I just have to know what that color looks like in grayscale so when printing it look correctly. You can test this by setting color off is grayscale, and just use the color off icon to see.
  21. I have had my own wall fills since day one, haven't noticed
  22. If you mean file sizes, print to "PDF" using a 3rd party "PDF" driver. Do not use Chief's print to "PDF"., their file size is very large compared to others..
  23. I would run it by the city to be sure, I have never done anything exactly like that before and as we all know each city will have their own rules.
