  1. I had a flu shot and it was only a couple days for me and very manageable and could work the whole time, lucky I guess
  2. Lew, didn't you start drawing this a long time ago using what version?, before transparency? if so, I would try to copy the entire plan to a new profile plan in X9. that might restore all the new tools you might need.
  3. around here hip roofs cost a lot more than gable roofs (conventally built) b/c we need to build all or most hips using beams for the hips and valleys and also to brace where the hip meets the ridge with ceiling beams, then you need to bring that load down to the floor and a possible conc. pad or another floor beam to carry the loads. Trusses eliminate all that...
  4. no workaround but if chief would do some changes in Ruby ,many have been asking for, then we could automatically annotate sections and elevations.
  5. Did they save the plan as "backup entire plan" before sending to you?
  6. There is also a center sheet icon in the file/ Print DBX
  7. sometimes a wall might look connected but not. So try to re-connect the walls. Also check for a "non-definition" wall somewhere
  8. Yes, you have lost a room definition somewhere. Check your wall connections, as Lew said
  9. I also did not get the textures until I simply closed and re-started Chief and they showed up in X10..Not sure why though.
  10. I used to have that unchecked when Chief had problems without any undesired effects. I'm using X10 now and have it checked without any problems, come to think about X9 it was also checked without problems. Check you mouse drivers to see they are up to date
  11. That one is an oldie but goodie, surprised it's still around after Chief has fixed it many time before
  12. When bringing plan forward, you will have some fix up especially with a beta version.
  13. Hip rafters do not cut like rafters do, Chief classifies hips as ridges and they don't cut with sub fascia on.
  14. You might also want to color your roof sheathing to white to match the rafters and add the blocking.
  15. That's basically what I do. If I have a preliminary plan drawn in X9, then I will just bring it forward into X10 to finish. if the plan is finished in X9 then I will make changes in X9 and leave it there. If a plan is 2 or more versions back I will copy it to a new version profile plan or template, of course there is some fix up required.
  16. Unfortunately Chief has nothing automatically to fix that error in programming, you must fix it using a p-solid , there are other ways to do it but this is the easiest.
  17. The only difference I have is hardware edge smoothing is set to high on my system.
  18. I think it might be a Chief problem ,or a bringing plans forward a few versions. My machine is a couple years old now and slow with Scott's plan which is a large plan with lots of custom stuff. I usually do not see the slowness but very rarely get that kind of project. You may not find a computer that will run that job very fast. Check with the next update and see.
