  1. No errors for me and the jive is close enough, at least never had any complaints. Most framers will know when they need to align with existing walls, they just don't care about 1.2" or so
  2. when I measure with the disto, I will round off the measurements to the nearest inch
  3. We all know with remodeling it's plus or minus 1 to 3 ", so it shouldn't be a problem to get an even number. even at 1/16.
  4. I would try to print to PDF and see if it corrects itself.
  5. Look like your elevation section camera is not starting outside the building to me
  6. One thing I learned a long time ago was that everything will not be exact in 2d and 3d, so just don't show that particular 3d view, you have already covered it with 2d and possibly a cad detail.. I actually don't show everything in 3d ,only what clients want to see like exterior and interior views, framing 3d is something I never show, for exactly that reason. Cover it with a cad detail if you must. Sections are really just for a general idea and good for ceiling heights, roof heights ,etc.
  7. Joe, does this screw up any of our existing macros from working or do I need to change my macro's?
  8. FYI--X10, you can place an outlet anywhere automatically, the are called surface mount ( any surface)
  9. I updated yesterday, no reason not to. X10 is a great release
  10. Scott ,53? come-on you know it was 49. I have long forgotten everything about X2 anyway.
  11. I like to actually have the walls exactly where they need to be by moving them to not have fractions. my dims and grid snaps are set to 1/4" ,but if I don't want to see a fraction, move the wall when needed, then the model will be better.
  12. I am also noticing the duplicates with materials, I do know in X10 Chief has re-done the materials, but which one do you keep. How can the merge if they are different. They have the same name.
  13. I like color also , I just have to know what that color looks like in grayscale so when printing it look correctly. You can test this by setting color off is grayscale, and just use the color off icon to see.
  14. I have had my own wall fills since day one, haven't noticed
  15. If you mean file sizes, print to "PDF" using a 3rd party "PDF" driver. Do not use Chief's print to "PDF"., their file size is very large compared to others..
  16. I would run it by the city to be sure, I have never done anything exactly like that before and as we all know each city will have their own rules.
  17. I agree with Greg except I have installed fire rated windows within 3 ' of a property line in the past and I would think you would have to make the deck wall structure fire rated also.. You might need to put a fire rated material under the siding. Maybe you could hold that deck back a bit.
  18. Not exactly sure if this helps but Chief will create a phantom slab in elevation views automatically until you actually build one.
  19. It's your hips and valleys which Chief calls ridges unfortunately , just reduce the size to what the rafters are and they won't show. This error in programming has been around forever. or thicken your rafters to fit. we really need separate controls for each sorry I thought you wanted them to not show for some reason
  20. Never had any problems with the latest drivers installed ever, but it would be nice to see his system after seeing your system ,it should be good to go for you for sure, sometimes they ship with old drivers though still check it.
  21. Check to make sure you have the latest video card drivers installed.
  22. I have done it, but it was a long time ago, and the same chief program . You need to open both versions and copy paste to the new version. The trick is to hold down the control key when opening a second version, but never tried using two different versions. It's might be easy for you. Make sure you are on page zero when copying. You can always copy your layout to the lib. and export to the new Chief also
