  1. When you remodel older homes, these are pretty standard and I will have something like this in every job I draw and Chief has not updated this tool since I've been around , almost 14 years now.. Chimneys have always been a p-solid and manually done.
  2. You could also create a Manual. slab for that , just use the slab footing tool, then place the slab anywhere you want
  3. Nvidia just put out an update today. Who knows?
  4. I already donated mine a while back ,and the person got the envelope but the hasp broke out of the envelope and was never seen again.
  5. It looks like your rafters are different sizes from the pic.
  6. I don't use Chief's PDF printer, print straight to Adobe and I always print in color but be careful on what colors you use b/c using color off is greyscale, which color you use will matter, try to use a darker color and not use any light colors unless you want to have a light gray color or just use a light gray for those. You can test your colors by using the color off icon to see what it looks like in greyscale.
  7. For me, when looking at a whole 24 x 36 page it looks light, and a bit of greyscale but when I print them, they come out just fine. I have Adode pro DC.
  8. I wish that was the way down here but it's unfortunate that won't work in this area, they want a stamp on everything and that's what I have do for 40 years now.
  9. Why don't you just state the city you are in, it would make it a lot simpler
  10. what about beam calc's and I can't remember the last time any city accepted -- without calc's most of the jobs I do are not anything standard.
  11. as you know at least around here everything need a stamp, they won't take my word in place of a stamp on the plans. Must also include calculation's on every job..
  12. The bonus catalog has some ridge vent s there, not sure about home designer
  13. I would say no b/c my engineer will do the calculations, but I am looking for a way to add them to the plans quickly. I really don't add them to the plan until the engineer has done his work. As we all know there are too many varibles even within a 50 mi radius form me..
  14. My plans once won "best remodel of the year" from the city, and when the city interview the builder for an article , the builder took all the credit and didn't even mention me but my name was all over the plans. I didn't find out about it until it was done.
  15. I did get the core lib update the last couple of days, you might open the lib. tab and check update lib. catalogs. and see if that works for you
  16. I don't think that Joe could possibly design all the different requirements from all the different regions of the U.S. into one macro.
  17. Every time you drag walls down the whole wall follows so your bottom plate will be at the bottom of the floor joists level. I never try to drag walls, it will mess up your sections.
  18. very nice Glen but does it show up in the materials list and schedules?
  19. That's something I could use also, right now I use cad lines and callouts for the holdowns
  20. Pretty good, how old is she? Now you have someone to help you in your old age. My grandkids aren't even interested--to complicated., they would rather play games.
  21. not yet maybe in the next version but you can create your own symbols to do it but it's an advance method
