  1. Not secret, I use a very much toned down version of what Scott does.
  2. I said 200 for property lines or terrain perimeter to be exact, and that is in the plan and transferred to the layout when printing, I never touch the layout line-weights and keep that setting at 100 where chief puts it. Any changes to line-weights are done at the plan level. Changing the layout line-weights Change all of them at the same time. The bookies don't have the la chargers doing very good this year.
  3. I think by adding the word anno- as a layer was confusing to me.
  4. What I think he does is create a new layer, instead of a new layer-set in his video. I do still think Scott has way to many layers, Anno-sets, layer-sets for me. But don't let me influence you b/c you have different needs than I. Larry's video seemed a little confusing and he does it different than all of us.
  5. My line-weights start at 15 and go up from there to 200 for property lines. Anything below 10 is probably to light. You can also use a grayscale line to make it seem lighter.
  6. I'm not sure if you need all those anno-layers but what I do is to create a new layer-set for a new anno-set as needed. Keeps it simple.
  7. You can export and import anno-sets and layer sets.
  8. I always just remove that chief wrap layer.
  9. Whatever you want it to be. How is someone suppose to know that, prices change every day.
  10. of course ,Joe, take all the time you need, just let me know when you are ready.
  11. It might be hard to find a commercial drawing file as not many of us do it in Chief. Some do though.
  12. Nice Joe, what a time saver all that is. I'll purchase all of the above.
  13. Also it would be great to get room names in the sections.
  14. Nice Wendy, that would be good for those that like a lot of cad work, But I like it always live. I do use the auto detail icon for Foundation cover up though. It's very quick for me. Stairs really should work without all that fix up.
  15. Be careful what you ask for as Los Angles County is the worst in the nation and very difficult to work with. If you are not familiar withthem, do your homework first. You may be required to do lots of extra work, not known unless you have worked there before. Structural engineer is a must have, and if hillside topo maps and soils reports will also be required. Good luck
  16. I change the layer to "fireplaces" on those chimneys so I can turn it all off or on.
  17. They only got me at the buffet line but I'm way in the back, maybe no one will notice
  18. Mick is correct, section / elevation views do not update at this time. You must open and close them.
  19. Yes, you can do it in chief, but I would have to play around with it to give you an exact answer. Chief does have curved roofs to do it with. Look in the help files , there are instructions there.
  20. I also see a lot of masonry fireplaces, its pretty much a dead trade now, but we still need to draw them. Chief has really not done much with them. I usually use a Chief standard fireplace and use p-solids from there to customize the chimney.
  21. Schedules should automatically update in the plan and layout. It does for me.
  22. Chief should automatically generate the sill for you, I would guess something isn't set up correctly. There is a place to size the plate height in the foundation DBX, then rebuild from the foundation level. You can also post the plan if I'm guessing wrong.
  23. If you use the "Box scale" instead of the "Scale", it will show the correct scale it was sent over to the layout as all the time no matter what zoom you have. If you re-scale the view it also changes automatically. Been doing it that way for many years now.
