Nice exterior drain lines

After turning on "color off is grayscale"I print everything in Color, when you print to paper, set it to Grayscale there or turn off Color it will show in Grayscale. Also keep your colors on the dark side if you want them to print in Grayscale, there is a point that the lighter colors just won't print. If you want a combo of color and grayscale, just open the layout box you want in grayscale , and check grayscale.

I the Preferences section Check " color off is grayscale".

I'll have to try putting those in a cad detail, I always put all the schedule's in the plan, so as I design, I can view them b/c I use the room finish sched as my square footage info. Really helps to separate new rooms from existing rooms. I guess I could throw them on the 2nd monitor, that might work better for me.

You can also make the text to 1/128 and put the new text over it.

Johnny Are you just looking for 3d?, if not, How does it frame for you? How does the foundation work for you? What about electrical. Are there too many lines in vector view?
-
Joe, isn't there a problem with windows and doors poking thru with that method. I would just say Chief just doesn't do it, without a lot of hand work. and trouble.

I never trust anyone else's measurments ,as I have never found a plan not measured by me, that is accurate. Tracing works good but you must then verify exact measurements. For me 6" off is not good and you will hear about it later. I like to always verify.

Leica Disto E7100I Works With Chiefarchitect?
DRAWZILLA replied to mynewchiefID42's topic in General Q & A
If your Disto goes off for non-use, you will have to re-set the room planner to Disto Bluetooth connection. I wish that when you turn on the Disto again the connection would be automatic. -
Don't move the camera in camera view, move it from the plan view
-
With the SAM you take a recent plan erase what you need and continue, with the template method you start with a saves template plan.

Thanks guys, I was just asking, didn't test it.

Saw the video, but you had all one big normal rooms, When does that ever happen ? What if you have some baths or garages, kitchens and decks.

didn't see the video, I'll check it out.

I don't think you can change every floor with one swipe of the button but I can do it ,but only per entire floor and that's what I want. I thought you wanted each entire floor changed not all floors 1,2,3,4,5.
-
I do almost the same except I use a lot more sections going both ways as you cannot copy them and it takes a while to set up each one.
-
this one Floor defaults, it will change all the floor heights and thickness at once but you must have the floor plan you want to change up ,as this DBX will only show/ change the active floor.
-
I keep this icon in my toolbars for quick total (all) floor changes. if you have 5 floors they will all show up in the DBX. of course you have to raise the roof if auto roofs are not on.

There is a "create line style" tool in Chief, try it. If your having a printing problem just increase the line-weight of the line. out of the box it might be set to 1, I use 12 to 200 depending on what I need. I would keep that 1=100 the same and change line weights as needed. It does mean to go through all your layer-sets and change them but once set up you wont have to do it again if you use templates

It also has to do with new features in every version. What would happen with those new features that aren't in the older version, you might just get a conversion that is half gone. I'm sure we wouldn't like that. There is just no way to do it without losing content.

Yes, and that walk-line must have the required depth of tread at the 12" mark. It looks like your curve at the bottom of the stairs is too tight, needs a bigger radius to get that 6" min. at the end of the tread.

Yes but I don't have time to model everything, I would lose money. I want to find symbols on sketch-up or in the lib. I couldn't imagine, solid modeling a high rise building with solids, when a program has all the tools you need. I'd prefer a program that does most of the work for me, then I can customize it.

If you want the materials list to be correct, if you can ever get that right, Create a different conc. stem wall with a fill and only include those walls in the material list. Create your foundation and just change the foundation walls ( you may have to break them ) to your new wall type. I do it all the time, do the same for new and existing walls in your plan

Here is the code form Calif. taken from the IBC

Yes, had it since 2010 ,an upgrade from 2003. Now they want you to go with the subscription, outlook (office) 365. . I don't think they make a stand alone version anymore.
