    Check "balloon frame" and it will fill in for you.

    That's why an engineer works, he will do the calculations for lateral and check the beam sizes for you .You are then free to design away. That's the way I have done it for 40 plus years. no problems

    Now you can upgrade for 50 bucks ,Turbocad ( Imsi) bought them years ago and let it die on the vine, that's when I came to Chief.

    Are all your lines black, or are they in color, I always print in grayscale. Could be your printers fault also. Color in grayscale will print different shades of gray for the colors, so it may look fuzzy or maybe the printer is just running out of ink. If you are enlarging your PDF then you might get pixilation .

    Will an Engineer stamp work, I do that on every project, plus you might need an Engineer anyway.

    Dennis, I used Designcad for many years prior to chief. Still keep up with it, ver. 25 just came out. I have too many jobs drawn on it to give it up. Great program for cad work.

    Build your foundation for that garage ,and adjust the curb height.

    For me, and I do nothing but Con doc's, all the time, the 3d framing views just isn't there yet, needs more work for me to show 3d framing. It's getting closer with each new version. I really don't want framers looking at the 3d framing views and trying to build from that. Too many mistakes at this point for that. I really use Chief as a basic start ,and cad detail everything that needs one.

    yes, just add another floor, whether you want one or not in your default or template plan.

    You also have to change it for every floor in your plan

    I was just thinking it might be a hot key that undo's something or got messed up somehow.

    I always hit the save icon before I close. I must say I haven't seen that problem.

    Don't you guys ever get sleep. I know its not possible for me to be up at all ,at those times. I would die.

    My details are already in the layout, all I do is delete the ones Not used. I really don't want anyone scaling details, use dim's for that. For me it's so mush faster and better than any cad detail windows.

    There is already a wall in the deck section called "Straight deck edge" you can use and get 1 line.

    I usually only do private video's for clients, and the one's you might see here once in a while. Don't use YouTube
