AriseDesign
Working on a project where I spend more time waiting for the program to Undo and Update than actually creating geometry - I just bought a killer workstation, don't know what is it - .plan file is 30mb, is that normal?
Dennis_Gavin
you should post the plan in a zip file or provide a link to dropbox or similar. Also, video card is important. without the plan and more information you cannot expect any help because there is just not enough information. DRAWZILLA
I also believe it slower than X6 when using cameras and saving.
dshall
I believe I experience a slow down when I have been working on the plan awhile. I do not believe it is tied to the size of the file as much as the time spent working on a particular file. I am still monitoring to feel more confident in my assertion. DRAWZILLA
Yes, my slowdown is always even when starting a new plan.
JLDrafting
Yes, my slowdown is always even when starting a new plan. I have also noticed the slower response, or so it seems.

Dennis_Gavin
Didn't we have some kind of problem like this with X6 when released that was subsequently fixed?
dshall
I sent my plan into Brian, and he could not see the slowdown. Is he recognizing the slow down in your plans..... question directed at all of you.
VisualDandD
I have noticed a slow down. Most when zooming in and out and also a longer pause anytime new walls "connect". Another bug I am noticing is that when I select something and the handles pop up, I will grab the center one to move it and it will just stay there. The cursor will freeze. I will then have to re-select and grab again and it will move. It is not just one plan, but doing it in several different ones.
Joe_Carrick
Check your virus settings. Make sure that Chief and all Chief folders/files are exempted. You probably did that for X6 at some point but X7 resides in different folders. Virus checkers can really slow things down.

I looked and did not have older versions of Chief excluded.... I will do that now though. Running from SSID so I dont think it would a file transfer issue either.
Nicinus
Larger plans with a lot of stuff becomes very slow, and comes to a crawl if I have multiple windows open such as one plan, one elevation and a perspective overview that needs to be updated in parallell. If I close everything but for example plan and shut off all layers I don't need it typically becomes acceptable again.

Joe_Carrick
I'm like Brian, I don't get the slowdown at all. It has to be system related.
ragetoca
How can it be system related if the same file did not have these issues in x6
DRAWZILLA
Watch my video same system, same plan, side by side, quite a bit of slowness vs. X6. X6 ended up being nice, as I suppose X7 will, by the time it's out of beta.
jcaffee
I've noticed a visible slowdown/stuttering while zooming in 2D vs. the same operations in X6. jon
Doug_Park
It is possibly a preference setting difference between X6 and X7. Compare your preferences for Undo. Compare the 2D Zooming and Panning Optimizations preference setting as well.
