  1. Share your .plan file so others can then see what you see, please. DJP
  2. Yes, you create a folder on your server and then you save copies of your collected materials to that folder. The Library Browser for each seat or license is specific to that computer so any arrangements you create are purely manual in nature. DJP
  3. You have two equal-thickness masonry wall types stacked making or leaving NO room for a visible "wall cap". Make the upper masonry wall thinner and then perhaps the wall cap will be visible between them. DJP
  4. "Why" is a good question for Tech Support. If it were me I would just manually draw in the missing foundation walls and then just drive on. That is my advice. DJP
  5. I did this project in Chief 1999. DJP
  6. I hate to be the only one out of step but since the beginning (Version 4 - 1995) I have always when "saving as" had to navigate to the location or folder I wished to save-as the file to before clicking "OK". I have always had to do this manually without to regard to Chief or Windows, what am I missing, please? I just tried it in X 14 - X1 with the same positive results. I see NO bug here. DJP
  7. I have never had an issue like yours exporting a .dae file, any version. makes me wonder what you are actually doing different from me? DJP
  8. That is why I seldom use a straight sidewalk or driveway. Instead I use the polyline sidewalk or driveway that is not programmed that way. Different objects for different purposes and applications. DJP
  9. Edit-Default Settings - Dimensions - Primary-Smallest Fraction This can also be done to a single dimension string by opening its dialog box-Primary-Smallest Fraction, you can also have it display in fractional feet as well. DJP
  10. You manually create ceiling planes and set their baseline height as you desire. DJP
  11. Works fine on my X14, sorry you are having trouble. Check your "Edit - Preferences-Library Browser", the Project Browser can be made visible using the "View Menu-Project Browser". DJP
  12. Can you be a little more detailed in terms of what you are trying to do, please? https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00788/creating-mitered-or-wrap-around-stairs.html DJP

  14. In order for you to obtain an accurate materials list the plan file must be PERFECT from foundation to ridge. The model must mirror exactly, in every detail, how it is to be built in the field. Foundations are commonly designed by State Licensed Structural Engineers. The model must, in every detail be 3D modeled EXACTLY as you intend to build the house in the field. When asked about this I tell my clients that to produce a .plan file that will present an accurate Materials list will require number one, an Engineer to design the foundation and then the time it usually takes to create the 3D model is commonly expanded up to Ten Times what would be normal just for CD's. I have only had one client require of me such a materials list. The resultant Materials List was accurate and it did take me many hours longer to ensure all was accurate. The client was happy with the result. DJP
  15. You create curved polyline solid appliques to emulate such walls. DJP
  16. You assign a molding profile under "Frieze Board" and or "Shadow Boards" either in the "Build Roof Dialog or Default Settings - Roof - Frieze Board/Shadow Boards" or by adding them via the roof plane specification dialog, per roof plane after they are created. DJP
  17. I have found in my experience that .stl files are very poor for use as 3D exports. I commonly use .dae or .3DS. DJP
  18. Try this please. DJP Trellis.calibz
  19. Call and ask Tech Support such questions. DJP
  20. If the baseline, fascia top are the same but out of symmetric alignment when you join the ridges then the Baseline location must be out of sync with the adjoining roof planes (baselines commonly are located on the outer edge of framing of the walls they bear on.) Check for that. DJP
