  3. It is still in your Project Browser, take a look please. DJP
  4. A new layout page for each different size required. Similar to AutoCAD you create a "white out box" to fill in the missing mass of the terrain plane in Cross Sections Pay attention of the settings when under File -Print - Drawing Sheet Set up, those settings tend to control the size of views sent to layout. You also have secondary control in the "Send to Layout" dialog as to scaling and other settings, take a look please. DJP
  5. Imagine, if you will that you are a software Architect and you are tasked with creating the "perfect software" app for building professionals. The app must fit all possible geometric problems, no matter the skill of the end user and it must NEVER be wrong or incorrect, ever-never. I mean really confront doing such a thing and ask yourself, can I do any part of that particular job? I think the guys at Chief Architect Software have done very well to date, not perfect, yes but very applicable. In twenty years of constant use, I have been able to solve all problems I have been handed by clients, so I am "OK" with having to manually step in at do what must be done and I am thankful for all the stuff I do NOT have to do that the software's programming took care of. I think a person needs to decide who is responsible for one's produce, the tool or the artisan, confront that and accept the results and I think one who has will then live a happier life. DJP
  6. I have never, in twenty years of using Chief seen this one, so my first thought was may be you raised the ceiling AFTER building the roof planes, shoving the ceiling up through the roof planes a bit. Otherwise,k I agree with rgardner above. DJP
  7. I have what I have in my "signature" (about fifteen versions), I do not have all Home Designer titles but I keep trial versions of the current Home Designer titles and a large part of my business model is assisting Home Designer users with their projects and problems. DJP
  8. This guy makes excellent 3D symbols. He has a right to promote that fact and that they are for sale. Whoever gave him a "down vote" is a despicable coward with antisocial characteristics. Please think before you attack someone without cause please. DJP
  9. NO, please post a copy of your problem plan and a more detailed explanation of what you are doing please. DJP
  10. I can help you and your wife, I do this sort of helping all the time. Contact me to get started please. DJP
  11. You use a "Pony Wall" (two wall types stacked), in this case interior 4 on bottom and glass shower on top, easy! DJP
  12. While on layout, select the errant view, then in the "Edit Toolbar" click on "Display Options" there in the Edit Toolbar. That will then show you which layer set is currently selected for that layout view. If the displayed layer set is wrong, you can use the "Drop Down Menu of Layer Display Options dialog" to select the correct layer set for the layout view on layout. DJP
  13. In the main toolbar, go to "Library - Download Core Content", when X13 is fully open after installation. DJP
  14. By adjusting your sun light and other light sources in your plan, there is NOTHING else to adjust. DJP
  15. Send the parent roof plane up a level and place the dormer where you then wish. Dormers are programmed to avoid occupying the same space as existing walls on a floor. DJP
  16. I am probably the ONLY Chief User who uses and maintains older versions of Chief and Home Designer software programs. Home Designer version 10 is O L D, I doubt you will find anyone but me who can help you get the roofs and elevations done in a format that you can continue editing and using your version 10 .plan file. Your software is the "little Brother" of Chief Architect X3 or X2 (both versions that I still have ready to help you) OR we can work together live, online to fix up your roofs and any other help you may need, just contact me via email or phone and I will help YOU! DJP
  17. I have Version 7-23 on my PC but I have LOTS of space, I keep my old versions because I specialize in helping people who never upgraded. I have a client that uses X5 another that uses X6, another with X7, X10, one who has X11, many who use X12 and a couple that use X13. When people need help and they have an old version, I am the guy they need. There is no reason other than your own reasons to keep older versions. DJP
  18. DJP Link to video tutorial
  19. Home Designer Pro is full featured in terms of 3D modeling as Premier. The big divide is limited choices and procedures that make Home Designer Pro a very "little" brother to Chief Architect Premier Full Version. Home Designer Pro has an ability to create scaled printed pages using a .layout file as does Chief Premier but the difference is in Pro you create a single layout file for EACH printed sheet and in Premier a single layout file can contain 1,000 such formatted scaled pages. Premier has lots of advanced and tools to make you faster and more efficient where as in HD Pro you can do the same things but it takes you longer to obtain a similar product. For what they charge for it, it is a STEAL!!!!! It is true that this is the forum for Chief Premier users and Home Designer has their own users forum called "Home Talk".
  20. I would just set the cabinet surfaces to a stainless steel material. DJP
  21. I had a new PC built for use with X13 (my old one was good but over five years old) and I have had ZERO crashes so far during Beta testing and since. DJP
  22. I sent you a private message, take a look please. DJP
