  1. X14 works fine with Zoom meetings and with Go to Meeting, I rarely use Team Viewer, so I have no advice or experience to share, sorry. DJP
  2. In HD Pro you have NO layers sets, one layout file for EACH printed layout page and fewer choices and tools (as one should expect). a lot of the fancier, customization tools are left out and are only resident in Chief Premier. DJP
  3. I downloaded your offered file and tried to open it in Edge, Chrome and Opera and each time all I got were blank images, communicating NOTHING, sorry. Post a copy of your .plan file, please. Generally speaking, the dormer tool is basically a symbol made up of walls, hole in the roof polyline, a window and roof planes. Like any other symbol it has programmed limitations built in. With its Default Settings planned for per application it is a time saver but is NOT a "fits all instances" kind of application. The best route is to study and find out for yourself what it can and can't do by default and then find out how to work with it as it is to get what you want, whenever you want it. That requires a lot of trial and error practice tweaking such constructs until you find out for yourself its limits and how to deal with those. Like any symbol that has built in limits they often interact with other 3D elements in your plan with walls, attic walls and roof planes in which they reside. Not every thing in this software can simply be "clicked" or "Check boxed" into existence without the end user having to step in, find out what is happening and then taking corrective, manual actions to fix it. 4. During Beta Testing and since I have experienced NOTHING but smooth, reliable performance. DJP
  5. I noticed that the custom made wall you used above the foundation or basement is designed by default to not smoothly line up it outer layers. The software is programmed to natively line up the "Main Layers", floor to floor. That IS what the software is set to do and that is what it does. Your main layers do line up except for the manual cantilever, leaving only the outer layers that by design do not line up. I did find two walls that showed "out of alignment" indicators when selected. Good general advice is to check everything twice so that nothing is missed. The cantilever issue is not part of how Chief is programmed to natively work, so your workaround as a workable solution. A large part of learning and knowing Chief are knowing its limitations and what it easily does and does not do. Chief will never be "perfect" for all possible users and applications but it is also quite versatile in the hands of a veteran user. DJP
  6. That totally depends upon the technical abilities of the "Designer" and their software tools I have never had this as a problem. I use the 3D viewer and 360 panoramas for clients as well as PDF's. Their interior designer is their problem to solve, not yours. AutoCAD files are natively 2D and a 3D DWG file might be editable in AutoDesk or perhaps REVIT but that is not my field of expertise. DJP
  7. Chief Architect software does not, is not capable of understanding or knowing ANYTHING!!! It is merely a mechanical or robotic tool that implements ONLY what it is ordered to do and NOTHING else. It follows settings in Default Settings and Dialog boxes, so if the settings are wrong you do not get what you wish, rather you get what the settings dictate. It is pre programmed to consider all structures in a plan file are the same structure, so as I said the settings per space determine the outcome. Dealing with a mechanical object you merely persist until you obtain compliance from a purely mechanical device. DJP
  8. IF you want them to show in camera views but not plan view, while in plan view select the wall that you do not wish to see and make it invisible in the Plan View Layer set, it will still show in camera views. You may need to segment the wall so just the part that you do not want to show in plan view is (wall break tool) cut off from the rest so only the part you do not want visible in plan view is then make "invisible". DJP
  9. You created the railing wall using an interior 4 wall, and you set the garage floor to -24 1/2 " but your stairwell room's floor is set to Zero inches, thus the wall type reveal. When you change the wall type to better match the garage floor to "Concrete Stem Wall" and set the floor height settings to match you get a better looking result, try it and see. DJP
  10. Is the oven symbol a Library Browser one or is it a Sketch Up download? Sketch Up symbols are NOT preprogrammed like Chief Library Browser ones are. DJP
  11. Please call or email me, I specialize in assisting Home Designer software users. DJP
  12. Open the dialog box of the imported PDF on your layout and make sure it is set at its highest display setting and "Saved in Plan" then, try again (just a thought) I have never had this happen to me. DJP
  13. Like your image would be a polyline solid aka 3D solid (depending on your version - X12 - polyline solid). You create the custom slanted object in an elevation camera, then line up the object to match your chimney in plan view using your Reference Display, then check the finished product using an isometric camera view. DJP
  14. I can work with all versions of Home Designer Pro as you wish, please contact me and let's get started! DJP
  15. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/1552/placing-an-apron-sink.html Watch this video on the Chief Website, please. DJP
  16. If you cannot find anyone in Idaho, I can, like many other Home Designer Users, help you with your plans submission and 3D modeling concerns. Please feel free to email me or call (contact information below), thank you and best of success to you as well. DJP
  17. My contact info is shared so those who need/want my help can communicate it. If you wish, please email me with the specifics I asked for and I am sure I can swiftly deliver what you need and want based upon your detailed instructions, thank you. Since you did not post your contact data, I assumed you would contact me, since I openly post how to contact me. DJP
  18. I would need to know what version of Home Designer Architectural you have so it can be formatted for your software after completion. It would be useful to also know the intended ceiling heights for the rooms and Architectural style of the home, lot size, topography etc. I am sure once you fill in the blanks, I or others could then help you as you wish. DJP
  19. California requires State Licensed Structural Engineer for structural call outs and foundation design, just saying, check your plan permit requirements at your Permit Office's website to be sure what constitutes "Construction Documentation" for their area. DJP
  20. The system used here for "reputation" is purely not fact based, arbitrary, mechanical and robotic. Were I you I would ignore it completely and just be yourself. DJP
