  1. I can help, I also teach/tutor others in Chief and Home Designer software as well as an outsource. DJP
  2. I frequently manually save my "User Library's" per version to One Drive and also to a USB HD that I have so if everything goes away, I have those back ups. DJP
  3. Group-Select the walls you wish to edit and then open the group dialog for those walls, select Wall Types and then select a foundation wall type that also has a "brick ledge". then Click "OK" to close and affect your intended changes. The software is not "Smart or Intelligent" it is basically a robot that you control by settings that YOU make. It does have some "automatic" build into it by it does them robotically. DJP
  4. Control-key-left-click-drag the appliance into the cabinet always works. DJP
  5. What are the specs of your new computer, please? X12 should work better on a new computer provided it meets or exceeds "Minimum Requirements" listed on the Chief Architect Website. DJP
  6. You may not have read the license agreement for a Chief Architect Seat, in that your license allows all versions to run under that license. I have Versions 7, 9, 10 and X1 through X13 on my PC. In order to sell you my X1 license I would also have to transfer all my other licenses to you as all their software is under one end user license. In order for you to buy only X1 from someone they would only have X1 to sell and have and use NO other licenses or versions of Chief. You should verify this with Chief Architect Sales to be sure. DJP
  7. In X13 you go to "Library" dropdown and select "Import .alb files convert to .calibz" , navagate to the old .alb library file from Version 10, select it and then it will import into X13 as a .calibz library file. DJP
  8. You manually draw an attic wall to fill in. Whenever automatic routines fall short you step in manually, always. DJP
  9. 2D exterior views are called "Elevations and cross sections", have at them using your elevation cross section camera to obtain them. What on Earth computer do you have please???? DJP
  10. Both are good but can be made to look more realistic by YOU making adjustments to light and materials. Computers and software do not make Art, it is end users who do this. DJP
  11. By using the Transform-Replicate Tool, in an elevation camera, you select the window you wish to change, select "Reflect Horizontally" and then that action will change the henge side. If you also wish to show the henge side in your window schedule you manually alter the "label" of such windows. DJP
  12. That "line" is the line of the "Brick or Masonry" ledge and should not be "removed" no matter what you think. It IS physically there in fact as well as in the plan file and should not be removed showing then NO brick ledge. DJP
  13. Unwanted "Attic walls" on the <A> "Attic level" can be made invisible or just deleted as you wish. DJP
  14. The same way a road builder does by moderating the terrain of a road bed by altering the existing terrain to accomidate a moderate slope of a road thourgh rougher terrain. It takes time, being methodical and persistant, with a bit of trial and error but just like the road builder, it can be done by someone intent to do so. DJP
  15. Also you should study the requirements for plans submission at your local Permit Authority website to make sure that what is submitted is closely following their minimum requirements for plans submissions which also includes commonly State Licensed Structural Engineer. Knowledge is Power! DJP
  16. I run X1 through X13 on my Windows 10 PC, no problem. DJP
  17. No, a copy of it should exist in "C:/My Documents/Chief Architect X13 Data/ Database Libraries-User Library", if you can find it via Windows File Explorer you should be able using the "Library-Import .calib" command in Chief to restore it if missing, otherwise I will help. DJP
  18. I always save mine to my Cloud Server (One Drive), that way it never gets lost. I can share a copy of mine if you like, let me know please. DJP
  19. In Windows you go to the "Add Remove Programs" area and select X13, choosing "Repair" instead of "Uninstall" if available. The Windows runs a repair routine on the selected program. Sometimes this works, sometimes a full reinstall is then necessary. DJP
  20. Number one, I would run a "Repair" of the existing X13 and see if that helps. If no joy so a full uninstall-reinstall of X13. If it still persists, then a wider look at your computer is in order. DJP
  21. Rosemag, please share copies of your existing floor plans with me, so I can get started. DJP
  22. Take a look carefully at the information resident on your Build Roof Tab - Roof Styles Tab where it explains how to preprogram walls for building auto roofs, follow the instructions found there and you will be fine. DJP
