  1. I'm looking for an inside corner for crown like the one in the photo. Have you seen one in the Library? (Scott this is toothpaste for children that don't like mint) Thanks!
  2. I'm really happy that the lighting fixtures now show correctly in the Library, really, really happy. It verifies the commitment the CA staff have to improving and matching the needs of the User base.
  3. Joe, your Laundry Hook-up Box comes quickly to mind. As always, I appreciate your generosity, ~Cheryl
  4. Adam, I'm not experiencing this. I have the latest Build 17.1.0.51x64. Is this your build?
  5. Geeze, it is Fri 13Th! Thanks for looking, Jon. I'll build framing and see if that solves it. Otherwise, it's going in as a bugger.
  6. In CA X7 I am having issues with either not having enough coffee, or the Soffit tool misbehaving. If you have time please look at the attached tiny plan. Look at the soffit settings, change them and see what you get. I'm seeing the soffit not recognize the ceiling plane, and not holding settings. I've just reviewed the videos, but not seeing my error. Obviously, I'm working on a large plan, but did this little one to replicate the condition. Thanks in advance for the assist. Slope Soffit not working right.zip
  7. trdesignllc, did you see video #5234 on the Chief Architect site? Were you working within a wall elevation? I'm attaching a little plan where the back shwr walls are done with material regions. HTH...~Cheryl Shower from Cabs.zip
  8. I'm one that prefers to make showers with cabinets (not unlike Scott making exterior columns from cab.'s). Now that we can split the cab. vertically this method is really sweet. Cab's easily accept hardware. Here's a wee plan using cab's for Glass walls. (Note that the crown molding is funky on the exterior walls. This is what happens when one changes the wall definition to include tile, and serves to illustrate why to NOT use this for the tile walls.) EDIT: just realized that the plan wasn't attached Shower from Cabs.zip
  9. MaryAnne, If you'll post a little plan and screen shot, you'll find a plethora of help. We can't see what you see from here.
  10. Joe is the Robin Williams of the IEQ world. I've had the pleasure of attending 3 seminars with him where we laughed and learned. I held the CIEC designation, and tried to always get CE's with Building Science Corp. If you get a chance to hear him, take it! Building Science Press puts out fabulous reference materials, and if you attend a seminar, you have access to additional materials. Joe is a PhD in both Structural & Mechanical Engineering. His partner, John, is also a PhD (but not quite as funny) and Joe's wife is an Architect. So much experience, nothing surprises him. Edit: sorry, I just saw this!
  11. This would really be helpful, I hope that it can be implemented! Please post it under Suggestions, I bet there would be lot's of support for this idea.
  12. Formerly, I did mostly condocs for new construction. Now, Realtors call me to do Virtual Staging of a few rooms, or to show what might be done with the space. I develop 'as-builts' for those rooms, and beyond so that the 3D work is close to what the prospective buyer will actually see. Most rooms have windows and the buyer needs to know something about that light. CA is a great tool for interiors. This Users Group is 2nd to none, 24x7x365 because the CA installed base is all over the world. If you remember to post a plan along with a description of what you need to do, you'll find almost immediate help. Welcome Aboard!
  13. WOW! WOW! WOW! I have a real life need for 22 treads and a qtr. circle landing in the middle. This is amazing!
  14. Thanks for sharing your time & talent!
  15. Brinkbart, Thank You for sharing your time & work, again!
  16. I,too, have had posts that I couldn't delete. The last one was where I couldn't figure something out, then had an epiphany and didn't want to take anyone else's time on the matter.
  17. Just to add to what Lew has pointed out; there is always a little learning, along with unlearning/re-learning between rev.s. Don't schedule yourself too tightly for awhile, because you'll be on the learning curve, watching videos, and experimenting with the changes. There will be many of us here to help, too. You'll be very pleased with the improvements and will probably want to stay current moving forward.
  18. Hope that you'll share how you came out. Hoping all is well.
  19. MickeyToo & Brian, I did a little experiment with MickeyToo's suggestion of the trigger. MickeyToo is Spot On. Here's what I found: Edit Handles seem to be stable if > = 5 You can't have an Edit Handle = 4, it gets set to 3 THIS CURIOUS BEHAVIOR OF DIMINISHING THE EDIT HANDLE IS TRIGGERED BY ACCESSING PREFERENCES - EDIT (Exactly as MickeyToo discovered) And it WILL GO TO -0-! I suppose that the work around is to ALWAYS reset the Handles to 4 every time you access Preferences. This is if: 1. you have CA X6 to OPEN DIALOGS TO LAST PANEL VISITED 2. You (like me) like your Edit Handles to be < 5. So, it wasn't the new rev that had 'fixed' my original problem. It was that I had not reset my PREFERENCES! BTW; I set the plan to tech support months ago. Thanks to MickeyToo's discovery, they don't need a plan any more.
  20. Very Good Demo, Scott. I feel very lucky for 2 things. 1. I've been with CA a long time and with each rev only had to learn & unlearn from my base knowledge. 2 CA's Team members kept me out of learning the fundamentals of wire frames, skins, stretch planes, etc. With just my limited knowledge, I could produce a decent product. This is an example, where I'd hate to be new! Hopefully, others will be able to glean help from the thread and your demonstration. What I'd love to avoid is someone futzing with this for hours.
