  1. Joe, That's IT! In a 15" - 18" cab. 3 bays would be appropriate. In a 21" - 24" cab. my face frame vendor usually puts in 4 bays. I have never seen over 24" in a tray cabinet. Kraftmaid only makes a 9" cab., so 2 ea 9" for 18". I am still thinking that having the software DBX specify the vertical partitions the way we do Shelves would be a more elegant solution. Appreciate everyone's help and thoughts.
  2. Thanks, Dennis, I always appreciate your thoughts.
  3. Scott, I agree, it must be user error. But, It's been a long day & I can't predict when they will take leave and jump around, so I'll wait until I get a live example to post a plan. Appreciate your offer to help. Most of the partition from companies like KraftMaid and Wellborne, for example, are just 1/8" thick rectangles with a clipped corner. The problem with Cabinet Parts is that you cannot Break them to clip the corner, this includes Soffits. Besides, It's just a pain in the Patoot. This is why I've been using poly solids, slabs, etc. I had saved the poly solid in the Glass House example sometime back. I wonder if they don't like being inside a cabinet behind a door. Of course, I haven't asked them. Here's a cool pull out from Wellborne.
  4. Thanks, CJ, I really like the shelf rotate idea. We could do # style Wine Racks behind Glass Doors for instance. Nice!
  5. I've been doing the dividers w/ poly solids for a long time. The issue is keeping them in the cabinet if the FFH is not at sea level. It doesn't matter is they are freshly drawn or part of a symbol. They aren't tied to the FFH. When I was in Florida, I didn't know this problem existed. Now that I am a Mountain Woman, poly solids run from me!
  6. Rob, Post your suggestion under the Suggestions tab. I think that it's a good one, and even if suggested before, it is important.
  7. Look in the Formica Folder of the Manufacturers Library > DecoMetal> Solid Metal. There are some great textures that Ray Trace well. I like 4194 & 4245. There are many others that make for a way to have Sinks out of one material and the faucet out of another. For instance, I like sinks out of 4194 and the faucet in 4245. The subtle changes are also good for things like appliance labels & hardware. I like to use the Formica wood-grains, too. With woods I dial back the reflectivity. Hope that you find them as useful as I have.
  8. Dennis, how can you put a door in front to hide the tray dividers (that do not come all the way to the edge)? Kraftmaid offers a 9" cabinet with 1 divider. Our local shops build face frame and will made wider cabinets with more than 1 divider. I'm pretty sure that we all put at least 1 tray cabinet in every kitchen. We all like cookies, right?
  9. Thanks for sharing, Mark. Much appreciated.
  10. Fooling around waiting for the Auburn game, I made up some simple case goods with various parts and finishes from CA Cabinets. You will probably want to fix the Celtic Chest to have the top drawer like the 2 lower ones, or place the knobs manually. Making case pieces from CA cabinets and saving in your library is very easy. I just hope that you may save some time using these... CCC Bedroom Suites.zip
  11. I am not sure that I have a handle on using either a Cab Door, Drawer, or Appliance because I wish the tray partitions to be behind a cabinet door. The cabinet can't accept a door over a door, drawer, or appliance. When designing a kitchen, i always put in at least 1 tray cabinet to be used for baking sheets and pans. These aren't things of beauty like platters, so they need to be concealed. If we could spec the number of vertical panels the way we do horizontal panels (shelves) I think that it would be helpful. How tall, 1" below the lowest drawer bottom to the floor of the cab. ~Cheryl with ugly baking pans.
  12. Joe, thanks for sharing this great tip!
  13. Still wish that in the next rev we could have control of dividers like shelves. It is my personal (limited) experience that most designs have the tray base as <24" and usually between 12"-18". Would you support this as a suggestion?

Very Nice! No one can tell that this is your first.
  15. Place the vehicle in the plan. take a camera view. in the camera view click on the vehicle, then click on the chair and pencil icon to edit the symbol. Make your changes to the Y axis - and you should be good to go. You may need to play with it a bid depending on the angle of your camera view. It shouldn't take long or be hard to do. Best, ~C
  16. I'm with Joe & Dennis, I usually get this when closing CA - then it doesn't work. Todd, only you can decide what to keep and what to delete. How heavy were the revisions, do you think that you may want to revisit certain changes, etc.?
  17. Todd, I'd stack 2 cabinets. But, I'm sure that others will have 'mo betta solutions if you aren't in a hurry.
  18. I grabbed it when I downloaded the Ethan Allen pieces, Thanks again!
  19. Thanks, Gene. These are a great look for today's consumer trends. Thank you, too, for doing the whole suite. Not everyone likes homes furnished as eclectic as my own. These are great!
  20. Who Knew? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'd really like it to be a check box in the Base Cab DBX.
  21. It shouldn't have anything to do with terrain. But, sad fact is that poly line solids draw their elevation from the height above sea level and not just the FFH when you have specified the terrain and building height. Sometimes, they seem to hop around, too. I don't use a cabinet partition because I can't make break points, or chamfer/fillet to make it look like an actual tray partition.
  22. I have been using polyline solids to draw Tray Dividers in Narrow Base Cabinets. There is that drat issue with crazy elevation data with complex terrains. May I ask what is the best way that you have found to define them in cross section? Also, do you assign a custom label for tray cabinets? Many Thanks, ~C
