  1. I really appreciate the symbols in Lighting 12 - esp. the Crane and Fizz collections of Fixtures, Thanks!
  2. Do you have a way to place a second appliance (warming drawer, microwave, etc.) in a cab.? I have been fudging by stacking cabinets, and giving 1 cab the correct label while suppressing the other(s). I know that there must be a much better way. Suppose that I could make my own symbol, too.
  3. Thanks for the new content being arranged in Suites, I really appreciate lighting and furnishings that go together! The new content is vastly improved and is looking like pieces that one might actually buy in stores today. Just sayin' THANKS!
  4. Have you looked in the Formica library? I think that if you see something close to the texture you like, you can modify the reflectivity to be shiner in Ver 10. As soon as you can, upgrade to Ver 18. It's well worth the price for the additional feature set, materials, and support. HTH,
  5. Hmm, I just moved my Elevation camera in closer - and CA X8 auto produced a good one! Very Nice! The take away for me is to be in very close to the curved wall when you attempt a curved BS. Stay Cool, ~C
  6. What is the best way to create a custom back splash on a curved wall. What I have produced is not representing Chief or me very well. Appreciate your willingness to share your best practices! Thanks,
  7. I learned something from trying to short cut and just print without sending to layout and doing the 'view port thing'. Thanks to all who responded! I appreciate your time, ~C
  8. I'll be posting the little plan this evening, but what would cause cabinetry numbering to double +/- triple? Could it be because I want to have each Elevation on a separate 8 1/2 x 11 sheet along with a schedule? Guess that I need to use a Layout sheet, but gotta run. Any thoughts appreciated.
  9. I've been in need of urgent, practical help to get drawings out the door and received great advice from fellow users - QUICKLY. Some of the things I may have been able to figure out given enough time, some where techniques that I 'knew' and forgot, and some where in the 'this is awkward' category. I've taken the workarounds and finished my work with a spirit of THANKS to those that gave their time and expertise freely. Those Power Users are Heroes to me! I've made several suggestions that are incorporated into CA. Some appeared fairly quickly, and others took several revs. The Suggestions area is the place to be positive and offer solutions, or methods that will make our lives easier and more productive. Like Mark said, CA uses that list and the number of 'hits' on a topic to help prioritize the list. We help forward think the software in the Suggestions Forum! Some of our suggestions are in the "you can't get to it from here," realm. They involve structural chances to the software and can't be done by the next rev. But, they are still being considered. I hope that CA will continue to be open with what they are shooting for in the next rev. Having met most of the Staff of CA, and watched their demeanor hearing criticism, concerns, suggestions and praise, I think that senior management have attracted the best and brightest. We want to continue to support them with SSA renewals.
  10. Dave, thanks for trying! Appreciate your time
  11. Greatly appreciate you taking the time to make these, and for sharing!
  12. Dave, I'm getting Texture Missing on all but the Carrara Marble. What did I do wrong?
  13. Thanks, David, also so very happy to hear that your daughter has improved.
  14. Just a note to say that we appreciate that the last Bonus Lighting Libraries are in 'families' or 'suites'. It makes a world of difference in making realistic interiors. THANK YOU!
  15. I am running Win 10 and also see it as an improvement. But then, I HATED Win 8.1 Pro.
  16. There's a new Intel chipset on the horizon that is touted as a game changer for tablets. I read about a month ago that the projected release is 2016. Like yourself, I'd really love to have one running Premier CA. I have an iPad 3 with Room Planner that is helpful measuring as-builts. It is limited to uploading walls, windows & doors to the cloud, though. The Room Planner development team is working on a new release, but I haven't a clue as to the release date or what new features it will have.
  17. Jon, Thanks! Looks like they are right off a mountain.
  18. While I love Earl Grey, I'm a bit of a winer, too.
  19. Ouy, I didn't see this until now. Scott, I don't know how you discovered this, but I suspect that It may be the reason I have had fits of frustration with a few plans. Thanks, Scott for finding the cause of the wacky behavior, and posting the response. We know that they are on it. This has been enough to make a temperate woman drink more than once!
  20. Scottisimo, it's hard to imagine Chief Architect making errors in dimensions, except maybe it's possible if we try too hard, or the dimension defaults are not set as you want them. I start by making a crude outline of the exterior perimeter with Exterior Walls. Then, I do an Auto-Dimension Exterior. Here's where I get serious about getting the perimeter correct by using the dimensions placed by the Auto Dim tool. In my rarely humble opinion, Chief is a very ROBUST design, con-doc tool. My opinion is skewed because I have been with CA since ver. 1. I have learned (and at times, unlearned) in small doses with each new rev. My business emphasis has shifted through the years, and I have found that Chief has had functions to migrate with me. I can imagine that it's daunting to come into ver X7 and start from scratch. I hope that you'll keep watching the on-line training videos and learn to trust the program. We all want you to succeed and be able to lend us a hand when needed, too.
  21. Refrigerator manufactures have released space hogs! Samsung has a model that's 72-7/8"h! I am now leaving 39"w. and 75"h for newer boxes.
