  1. Come on DShall, you didn't take notice that in the materials list there is BOTH a Red(x) Course & a Red(x) Course - Horiz material. Silly Rabbit! Alan is right with the work around, its what I used. BUT, I feel that the great & helpful folks at CA need to know that this problem exists and should NOT require a work around.
  2. Layout Sheets have come a very long way. I love the Template that has a Details Template and Elevation Template built within. The ability to manipulate pages is an important improvement, too. I also try to stay away from Edit Layout as any changes are wiped out with a revision that modifies the Elevation. I also had an electric eraser that I loved because I used it and the shield so much. Hmmm, wonder where that is now?
  3. Brian, Did Mickey's suggestion help you? I looked at my settings. Control Panel>Display and I am on a Custom Setting of 120%
  4. This played with my head for quite some time until making this little experimental plan. Notice that the pattern for the Soldier Course Brick on the window exterior molding changes between an Elevation and a 3D Camera. I was working in 3-D & Plan views. To this I added soldier course banding around the building. Went to do elevations and got a surprise. Changed all the Materials on the Window Moldings to do Elevations. Then, decided on a Prospective full overview for Page 1 of the drawings. UGLY & I thought that I was going nuts. Have you experienced this with Soldier Course Brick? It's the same with other colors of brick, too. CCC Brick Soldier course window.zip
  5. Sorry that I was away. My Edit handles have been OK since the next to last update. Dunno why, but I am knocking on my head (wood). This is an exasperating situation, and I feel the pain you have, hope that it is OK soon. BTW: I have never had 2 monitors.
  6. LOL! That's quite a job with 50' contour lines! Drip.. Like Robert, I'm lucky that our county has a portal to access 5' & 2' contours.
  7. You may want to consider changing the Label of each upper cabinet if you use the cabinet schedule.
  8. Ross, did you download the new DalTile library?
  9. Thanks, Tommy! Please put me on the list for the next virtual meeting.
  10. I wish that we had one active in N AlaBAMA - MIddle Tennessee.
  11. Todd, I believe that if there is a 'Thread' running through many ChiefTalk Threads, it is that we'd like more control of objects and their default layers. This is another example. I have often wanted to separate "Allowance" lighting fixtures from what the electrician is expected to supply - both on the Electrical sheet and the Schedule. What you are suggesting would be helpful. How about posting this in the Suggestion Area?
  12. Millwork Symbol For A 36 W Angled Brick Capital W Keystone
  13. Robert & Perry, Thank you so very much! I will definitely use both ideas. Perry's for most windows and especially for the sills on these. I'l save a symbol in Millworks so that the keystone and diagonal brick can be more integral to the window. I knew that there was a better way, and that I was wrong headed. Many Thanks!
  14. I made the symbol out of bricks and mortar - but, IT CAN"T GET ANY UGLIER in plan view. From the side, it doesn't penetrate the wall! From the side this is clearly 'glued on architecture'. But, it looks fine straight on. Any & all advice is appreciated. (Otherwise, I will create a Layer called Butt Ugly Capitals & Sills to be turned on for elevations, and off for Plan Views.) 15. Mealexmail, The Cab partitions and Shelves are very useful. However, sometimes you will still need polysolids because the Partitions and shelves can't be Chamfered or Filleted (is that a word?).
  16. LOL But, I wholeheartedly agree, Rich & Dionisis Gavonis !
  17. Robert, I was hoping that the other material would be the Keystone. Wonder why they have it as some kind of backer? This is a case of looks good, but no cigar.
  18. I spend most of my time with virtual staging for Realtors, and am admittedly rusty with exterior detailing. I know that this has to be simple, and have looked for a sample planset so that I could see the correct settings for this look. I have read the thread of 8/19/14 for an arch over a garage door, and will follow Joe's advice of making a brick+mortar joint and saving as a symbol then applying it to a trim polyline. I suppose that it would be on either side of the keystone. Surely, this is reinventing the wheel. I have attached a little plan. Please open it and look at the materials on the exterior trim of both windows. The Capitol (Jack Arch w/ Keystone) has 2 materials - only the second one appears. This is out of the Basic Library that comes with CA X6. The 3D Polyline Molding (Sill) has soldier course on the left window. On the Right Window is reg brick material. I used different brick that the wall to make it easier to see. Also, there is no Center Tool for 3D Polyline Moldings - UGH! I love that tool! Thanks for your time and help. If someone could post either a little plan with a window, so that I could see the settings, or a pix of the DBX I'd really appreciate it. Ext Win Trim experiment.zip
  19. Thanks for figuring it out and for the profile!
  20. If the walls are connected, it seems logical that this SHOULD be happening. As Lew said, a screen shot or 2 will be worth a thousand words. This community, wants to help!
  21. Glad that you're up and going again. We all learned this one the hard way. Experience is a great teacher.
  22. Is it possible that the .PDF files have changed locations?
  23. Thanks for taking the time on this, Joe.
