  1. If you remember let me know as I am not sure it is possible in X11 or any previous version without a text overlay maybe.
  2. You can stagger the dimensions so they don't overlap but I believe you will need to add an extra string to change the formatting.
  3. Rob, You can do all of that and also add a transparent fill in X11. You just need to create that cad blocks that I see you already have done and them assign them to the appropriately renamed symbols under the 2D Block tab of the symbol. Just be aware that there will be an offset issue if you add something to the block that is not symmetrical. You can offset the symbol from the block in the DBX but it is usually better to include something extra in your block that balances it up like some extra blank spaces in your text box to maintain the center snap point.
  4. It works automatically if you select the automatic function for "Text Below Line" once you send the camera view to layout and the page you send it to has something entered in the Label field of the Layout Page Information. Then it will show in plan and layout if you have the Cameras layer turned on. Also it can be set in Default Settings > Camera Tools > Cross Section/Elevation > Plan Display > Text Below Line: Automatic. Welcome to the Forum and please let us know a few details about what software you are using and your critical computer specifications by filling out your signature.
  5. This is not a problem in Chief Architect Premier but you might want to ask on the Home Talk forum for better answers for your software. https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/
  6. Does v10 allow .DWG import ? PDF files can be converted to .DWG although results are sometimes variable when importing to Chief. You are almost always better off working within the software as Solver suggested if possible rather than importing something.
  7. Here is a present for you Mike: 8 Concret Stem Wall No Fill.calibz
  8. A lot of things get hidden away in Cad Details and forgotten about even by the younger generation. Maybe take look there.
  9. If you need a duplicate in your plan set why not just send it to layout a second time or better yet just crop it to it's own layout box and copy the layout box.
  10. Or for standard camera views you could use an image converted to material and applied to a floor material region or p-solid or even a rug.
  11. Are you presenting your views in vector view or standard ?
  12. Give this a try Bill. Demolition Schedule and Notes Folder.calibz
  13. You may also want to say what format the plans are in and how many square feet are involved on how many levels and then delete this posting when you re-post in Seeking Services.
  14. Looks good but surprised to see the Z fighting on the fascia board. Possibly a model issue ?
  15. Yes are you suggesting it could work a different way ? If dimensions found everything on the page it would be quite a mess I am sure.
  16. That is what the dimension defaults do... Give you a starting point. By drawing cad lines you were giving the dimensions a starting point because your default most likely was set to locate cad. Then you can always manually adjust the snaps regardless of what locates are set but a wall detail only has framing unless you overlay a cad detail from view.
  17. How about if you select "Framing - Sides or Centers" ?
  18. Looks Good Michael. Glad it worked for you.
  19. Rob, Glad that you also want to design and build houses that are not vinyl boxes. You are absolutely correct and unfortunately chief has been aware of this problem for some time now. The totally ironic part is that the material direction for the sub fascia is correct and usually hidden by the fascia. What I have done before is removed the fascia and made a copy of the sub fascia and moved it out and resized it accordingly. It would be workable but not convenient if the materials for eave and gable fascia were separate but they are not. Maybe drop a note to CA about your frustration as I just don't seem to understand why they don't fix the things that they know are broken.
  20. Maybe Jenna could help. Did you try a pony wall ? https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/2447/architectural-object-features-added-in-x11.html?playlist=156
  21. Again Screen shots are Great because they show everything. Once you have your first Kitchen set up just the way you want it on page 1 of layout not page 0 as your screen shot shows. Just select the layout box on page 0 and CTRL + X then change to page 1 and CTRL + ALT + V. Then next time CTRL + C and change to page 2 then CTRL + ALT + V. Leave page 0 blank except for your title block and anything else you want to show up on every single page of layout. Then select the layout box for page 2 and then use the Relink File tool on the Active Toolbar and change the file association for the layout box to the next Unit's plan file. ( Sorry the previous instructions for this were misleading. I sent you to where the referenced plan files are shown and can be edited but not added like you need to do for setup. ) This should allow you to do all the layout setup without actually having to reopen each individual plan file. Continue on to #200. Alternately if you need to use the layout box label for other purposes you could place the %referenced_filename% macro into a text box with leader line set to a blank line style and arrow attached to the layout box set to use the straight line arrow style and get the same result. Just a little trickier to select it all to copy and paste but in other ways simpler than using the layout box label.
  22. I like screen shots. Thank You. For that to work automatically you will need to use the method I described and select the layout box label and rotate it and move it over to your title block. Once you do this you can copy and paste hold position the layout box with it's label to another page of layout and then just change the file association for the layout box by going to Tools> Layout> Reference Plan Files. This should save some time in sending 200 units to layout from 200 different plan files. Hope this helps on such a big project
  23. Is it working now ? There are two methods that have been presented. Solver's works by using the %file.name% macro in a text box of each plan file. The one I suggested works by referencing that same information from the layout file by placing the %referenced_filename% macro in the label of the Layout Box. If you need a different solution please explain where these solutions are failing for you.
