  3. there is a video on creating wall legends , it might get you started........ http://video.chiefarchitect.com/?search=wall+legend
  4. Nice idea , this reminded me that I have always wished you could enter the skylight's width and Length in the DBX too , not just the frame height and width.
  5. check you have textures toggled on in the other views , if that isn't it posting pics of the issue will help get you an answer...
  6. I think in Chief it is normally Off? , there is a setting in the Render Panel I think to "Zoom Using Field of View" but I find it too disorientating at times, so have it off usually.
  7. wouldn't the transom above that window have the Header ? there is no framing above that Window
  8. Good Tip Rashid , got to remember that one to try next time...
  9. There was a thread about 6-8 weeks ago in the Off Topic Area Boxon1 , they are going to turn it off at some point , and suggested we transfer any info we wanted to keep to this Forum , you might want to read that thread, ? I agree it is valuable info still to many, I went looking for something yesterday and found no easy way to access it any longer since they removed the link off the front page. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/4805-old-forum-gone/?hl=%2Bold+%2Bforum
  10. there was this post by Simonas about his new 5K https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/5246-x7-is-slow-as-hell-on-new-imac-5k/?hl=imac you could try messaging him for some insights perhaps
  11. it's probably z-fighting , check this thread https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/5239-roof-ghosting-in-3d/?hl=z-fighting#entry45508
  12. not sure what the reference to Corel Draw in the Title is about ? but Chief X6 files will open natively in Chief X7 , however if you save them in X7 they wont open again in X6.
  13. and is searchable, at least as of today ,June 8,2015 , but may not be always , as they have already removed the link off this Forum's Front Page if you hadn't noticed. I couldn't get to the Forum Front page ( all links come back here) but the Search box is working on the RH side http://www.chieftalk.com/search.php?searchid=46428
  14. there are paint brushes with flexible handles too , you can bend to the shape needed and they hold that shape.... though I'm thinking it would need a whole new technique...
  15. I think they are imported on the CAD, Default Layer , so check if that Layer is Displayed by default ( (Active)Display Layer Options) in whatever Set you are Using.
  16. it should be I agree , add it as a Suggestion and i'll +1 it , I am surprised I don't see more request for it actually. the other thing missing is the Soffit Venting ( strip or otherwise ) M.
  17. Don't think so , I don't ever remember seeing this in CA , I always add a few Cross boxes and lines to Section views , but I guess you could do it manually. of course I may be missing it too M.
  18. +1 on Larry's advice And I don't know that DVD but the ASUS one I have (24F1ST) is the Nastiest, loudest one I have ever heard.
  19. Because that is the Industry Standard in many parts of the World , any Builder knows to just Frame the RO to the next door size up so the one spec'd will fit in the RO. ie an 810mm Door's RO is 860mm . Doing Masonry walls it may well be different though.
  20. They are doing server maintenance etc today , I saw in the announcements area , but when I checked the Library after the download for more details the Dal Tile Lib. wasn't there. edit : appears to be there now http://3dlibrary.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?r=site/detail/684
  21. It looks like the error message mentions my File Graham , I guess you skipped reading Post # 136 Scott you should have it if you downloaded Graham's Texture file in post no# 165 too
  22. I do it about once a week too ....Today Dal Tile was updated , we now have Mosaics and ONE Quartz lines too. ( was only Ceramic and Porcelain)
  23. Thx for the extra info G. I have only played a bit with the General Contrast setting , not the Tone Mapping Contrast as I am not familiar it it's effects , I just saw Jintu recommend 60-62% Contrast in one of his posts a while back , possibly in the a Thread about Blender in the Chatroom?, when I tried it a while back. Actually the settings here are pretty good for Client views , are quick enough and nicer looking that the regular .jpg . As a test I opened the Shower door in the 3D view and with Jintu's settings (Photons etc) I stopped it after 12 mins as the angled glass looked like H*** and still wasn't half done. On a side note , when RTing, it pays to orientate my two brushed Stainless Textures to get the best look , eg the bathtub hand rail should be vertical as should the Towel warmer at the end of the room . M
  24. hi Glenn , he is suggesting that you use the same technique, he used to do Fascia Mount Railings with a hidden Ramp , if you look at those videos you'll get it , just be sure to turn on the Layer 'Z' to see them in his Plan. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/5306-deck-railing-post-fascia-mount-tip/
  25. Thx G . As a test I ran it at 1920x1080 (x300ppi) since that is my monitor/TV size standard settings was 6.23 so about 55% longer (3:54) (the settings we are using seem to be Jintu's Exterior ones) with Jintu's Interior Settings at 1920 x1080 (see attached) it was 12.37 as he uses Photons and Caustics on , he also recommends a slightly yellow/orange light , which looks good in this case due to the Cedar interior. I assume if I did 20 passes as he suggests, it would look really good...not quite so "muddy" Ray Trace Notes from Forum Raytrace Settings-Forum Notes.pdf
