  1. Hi Scott those textures are from a library I posted last year in the symbols Forum here https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/2563-stainless-steel-and-other-metals-add-yours-please/?hl=%2Bstainless+%2Bsteel Mick.
  2. I have been able to do it no problem, for all the Dimensions , but the setting for doing it to Window and Door Labels has eluded me, even if I specify the Label with Height x width macros . Maybe it is just me it annoys? (in metric plans) but I don't want to edit each and every label cos it looks like a typo. Thanks M.
  3. I was thinking 350 too , so maybe I'm missing something too.
  4. Not sure , perhaps so you know it isn't included but more likely cos you probably can't have one without the other. Can't you just delete it ?
  5. Nice....so we should be able to use the new Post and Pier Bonus items then too.
  6. did you try the "Gable Over Window" tool ? on the edit toolbar after select the window. M.
  7. I am surprised 25% is consider enough for a total gut..... think it used to 85% here and they lowered it to 65% a few years back , though I am not as lucky as you Greg as far as Wiring etc and it only being a few ceiling fixtures which is why I was interested in this Idea. I guess even adding a 2x6 on the flat over the existing Rim and reframing would work too , if you didn't need to beef up the structure with 3x8 to make the engineer happy. Typically Perry since we aren't on Slab the Gas line is in the basement ceiling here and I suspect Greg's is the same looking at his pics. M.
  8. In the past I have done it Greg's way too but usually inside an exist attic so we don't want to lose head height , but I like this idea for a Full new storey . How Perry has it set up looks pretty simple too, so basically you add 3X8 rims all around ( and wherever needed) and then just frame the new floor ? Do you have an old plan you wouldn't mind / can share Perry with this technique, looks really interesting. Thanks M.
  9. have you accidently change the default colour for base cabinets to grey ? seeing the plan would get you an answer much quicker than all this quessing btw M.
  10. in the brick wall definition set the foundation to build to the brick line (at bottom of the dbx) and in the foundation wall definition set a brick ledge to say 3" ( brick depth) and for a 1/2" overhang set the foundation Offset to 1/2 too (same location in dbx but at top of section.) Mick edit : you need to rebuild the foundation too if it's not on Auto.
  11. With Chief's window , if you tab to select the individual window and then pull on the side handle , (sometimes takes a few tries) you can usually get the windows to join on the corners , once you have done all 3 windows it doesn't look too bad for most views though it could be nicer.
  12. looking at the cross section , your monoslab doesn't have a brick ledge and your Walls are defined to only build the Foundation as wide as your Framing , not the Brick., so you brick is hanging in mid air. M.
  13. Actually I was wondering , should try it I guess , if the railing was run the other way if it would follow the slope , ie along the slope not across it but I guess it doesn't work as you cant keep the beam level with a railing correct?
  14. That is a very cunning (and Simple) Trick , I like it ! I would not have gotten that from the Video if I watched it 10 times ... So thanks a lot . M.
  15. I see Scott using dvx and always wonder , thought you may know since you used it. No problem on the Metrics , I am actually used to them too but don't use often here. This is a technique I may need to know sooner than later , which was why I was interested , so Thx for the plan .
  16. In an arch (only) you get one more piece of glass than the raycount you set , so in this case you get 2 pieces of glass thanks once again Yusef for a nice workaround.
  17. Hi Dennis , another way I used last time I did one of these was to Use the Pass Through , sized etc to fit "into the Bay" , you have to place the PT to the side at 1st , then drag it into the Bay Opening though.
  18. I think Bill Emery has a technique for doing Radius Corner beads didn't he?
  19. Well not being a CA Guru , I'd appreciate more information or you posting the test plan so I can see what you have done..... thanks glenn. if dbx = dialog box what is dvx?
  20. Sometimes I think like a Contractor, not like CA wants/needs me too , Monoslabs don't have walls in my World , so this is definitely one to remember, though we aren't allowed Monoslabs here , not even on garages. M.
  21. Are you using different Resolutions on the monitors ? if so , I would guess the Videocard can't handle that at the larger resolution on the middle monitor ( perhaps not enough video Ram) as that doesn't look like Z-fighting to me , rather the texture isn't being produced , there have been other posts on this I think. here is Chief's KB article on Z-fighting you could check that though http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00107/
  22. there are several KB Articles on how to do this http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/support/article/KB-00138/49/Home-Designer/Materials/Adding-a-Custom-Material.html http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00007/8/Chief-Architect/Materials/Creating-a-Custom-Picture-Painting-or-Sign.html http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00789/8/Chief-Architect/Materials/Using-Copy-and-Paste-Special-Tools-to-Create-a-New-Material.html
  23. perhaps cookie related for CT ?
  24. Nice Find , I didn't think of that after find the same issue as you originally , didn't think about the Monoslab actually having a wall as Perry mentioned. M.
  25. Mark, "I just moved the insertion point on the cad block- doesn't solve it but makes it easier to move to the cabinet" That was the trick I needed when I made the two outlets earlier in the thread I guess , I will have to read up on it as I was not aware of that possibility. My symbols work just like Joe's , they need manual placement / alignment , I have not tried Reflecting them.
