  1. It does work with a WMR , so I think you must be placing the WMR incorrectly or drawing it in-correctly perhaps ?
  2. Do you mean a Energy Heel Truss? cos that graphic from Georgia isn't a Truss, it a handcut roof to give the same effect as an EH Truss... Bottom Chord of the truss always sits on the Top Plate , so maybe I am mis-understanding something ??? M.
  3. Use an elevation region big enough to include the road and sidewalk and snap it to the back of the Sidewalk ( house side) instead of the Elevation line. You then need a Terrain Retaining Wall coming out from either side of the garage door to the sidewalk , both these you need to edit in elevation ( section camera) to slope just above the terrain. Then add a very narrow (6-12") Terrain Region the width of the Driveway, outside the garage door, set 1.5" lower than the garage slab. ( this allow for 1" thick driveway next ,it sits on the terrain in Chief) then add the Driveway from Garage Door to Curb. M.
  4. Hi Luciano , you haven't done your Forum Signature , so I don't know which Version of the Software you are talking about but it is definitely possible from the 3D>Materials menu in Premier. M. To do your Signature .... go up to the top Right Hand Corner above and click on your UserName> Account Settings> Signature.... and enable Signature (will Turn Green) then add your Hardware Details and Chief Software Version, as different Version require different Answers.
  5. Paint.Net is a free Image Editor......if you download it direct...... instead of from Windows Store. Currently version 5.0.8 Aug. 2023 download it here https://www.dotpdn.com/downloads/pdn.html Overview/Help https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/index.html Tutorials https://forums.getpaint.net/forum/18-tutorials-publishing-only/ Plugins https://forums.getpaint.net/forum/7-plugins-publishing-only/ Forums https://forums.getpaint.net/
  6. Paint.Net is also free if you download it direct instead of from Windows Store, I haven't used it a lot yet but is seems a little more User Friendly than Gimp to me... 7. The Default folder is in the C:\Programs Folder (Below) , chief just deletes the one in My Documents and replaces it with a copy of the one in the folder below..... ( hence the loss of customisation) might look a bit different for X2 and depending on which windows version you are on...but mine is at : C:\Program Files\Chief Architect\Chief Architect Premier X11 (64 bit)\Toolbars
  8. Normally if you copy the toolbars folder over from a usb drive or some other way into the new Data folder , Chief picks up everything on a restart. If you delete or rename the Toolbars folder Chief will build a new one from Defaults , which is all the reset button does I believe. M.
  9. If you are sure the Info is all there in the Data Folder> toolbars the only other option I can think of is to use the Reset Toolbars Option in Preferences, assuming X2 has it? though that would return all toolbars back to the standard OOB Toolbars and you'll lose any customisations you had previously.
  10. A sketch or image of what you are trying to do , would help us help you, as depending on what you are trying to do , there are different ways to do things. ie do you want the wall to have 3 colours left to right or top to bottom or just in patches? M.

    Backups

I would just backup the entire Chief Data Folder along with the Users' "Plans/Clients Folder" if that is not keep in the Chief Data Folder too. \Documents\Chief Architect Premier X7 Data + Plans\Clients Folder if not in the Data Folder above. Make sure he has a copy of the X7 Installer AND ALL additional LIBRARIES he has saved in the past too , as they cannot be re-downloaded without a paid SSA agreement. ( Core libraries can but not all the Bonus and Manufacturer Libraries except the free ones) M.
  12. Some maybe 7/8" ( that is minimum I think ) but not all, some like Rock Dash and some of the other heavy finishes can be thicker easily..... M.
  13. Missing toolbars folder ? did you migrate it? M.
  14. Export>Export Picture> (Save as PNG type) I think to get the Transparent Option you need .png selected...... sorry not on Computer right now....
  15. This can work but the balcony needs to be drawn on level 2 and pulled down in elevation and the Room Floor height reset to match level 1 or whatever height eg 18" for a window seat. it doesn't work if you have the balconcy on level 1 as you noticed. It's not perfect but may get you by depending on Views....Below I added a 2nd level 1 1/2" high and pulled the walls down as needed. M.
  16. Not on this thread..... the Plan needs to be closed in Chief to attach it to a post , if it is over 25 mb? you need to zip the .plan file to reduce it's size 1st. you need to do you Forum Signature too , so we know what hardware you are using along with the version of CA Premier. fill in your Signature like this .... go up to the top RH Corner above and click on your UserName> Account Settings> Signature.... and enable Signature (will Turn Green) then add your Hardware Details and Chief Software Version, as different Version require different Answers. M.
  17. Check out these KB Tutorials on Printing..... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/category/122/printing.html
  18. Hi Bob.. looks like you got your answer..... but 2 hours? you will get a message telling you what libraries were updated or that it has completed checking also normally if the Library is open you can actually see the progress bar at the bottom of the library window. There is another thread from about a month ago and TS has confirmed that if you modify the name of the Chief Libraries when you download them, they won't later update automatically. There are pluses and minuses too this , you can use this info to install an old library alongside a new one for example eg the Certainteed Library for X11 no longer has Fiber Cement Siding, the X10 library does. M.
  19. Not sure if it will work, but worth a try, ....you should be able to zoom in on the 2D elevations above and then use the CAD Detail From View Tool *** might need to rescale the CAD Work.....double check a known measurement.... *** Or download DraftSight it is Free still ( not after Dec 2019) and do it there.
  20. haven't heard or the issue or seen anyone else reportt it, but I'd suggest calling tech support before going any further.... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/company/contact.html M.
  21. Two Slightly different Drivers version I beleive, your Spectre may have the full Intel Driver version, while the Desktop may have the built in Windows 10 Intel (MUC) driver in use which may not be fully featured, typically these don't include the 3D options Panel etc , I'd think a google search would find more info on the missing right click menu. Thanks for looking into this , interesting read....... M.
  22. Its appear to be offline currently but you could try the Youtube Video Library and see if what you anted to watch is there too. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7jB5YPuzy5utIP1tF3w2mQ It seems some Vidoes are working and you can watch as long as you don't go to the main page 1st..... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/76/quick-start-introduction.html?playlist=138 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/69/ceiling-basics.html?playlist=138 @Dan_Park
  23. Best to ask on Home Talk since you are using HD Architect , not Chief Premier , same Username and pawword over there........ https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/
  24. I do this about once a week as CA is always updating the catalogs with new textures etc including the Bonus and Manufacturer Libriaries. M.
  25. they are there in 21.1.1.2 , you may need to update you library catalogs? I hadn't noticed them before this post though... the textures should be in the Referenced Files Folder inside the CoreCatalogFiles Zipfile eg:. C:\ProgramData\Chief Architect Premier X11\Referenced Files\CoreCatalogFiles.zip#zip:Mixed Aurora.jpg M.
