OpenGL was deprecated June last year by Apple in favour of Metal the own API , but I don't think there is any reason to panic , it will still work for years to come most likely , they just won't support it with devlopers from now on so Companies like Chief will eventually have to re-programme Chief to use Metal but Apple knows companies cannot do all that work overnight, so may never remove OpenGL from MAC OS as most Games also use it for 3D currently. It is slowly being removed in Windows as well with the Vulkan API and DXR ( direct X Raytracing eg Nvidia's new 2000 series cards.) slowly taking over and Chief will have to move the PC version to one of them eventually too especially to take advantage of the Real time Raytracing now available with the Nvidia 2000 Cards. https://venturebeat.com/2018/06/06/apple-defends-end-of-opengl-as-mac-game-developers-threaten-to-leave/ As for your Plan , it does crash X11 if you pull that roof plane in the top LH corner out over the exterior wall to the left for me too. Have a weird one myself last year like that that they finally tracked down to a bad Wall Cabinet in the Kitchen next to the Roof plane , I'd have never found it myself , deleted the wall cabinet and everything worked fine and they put out a fix in the next version , so I guess it jnot the same issue exactly. I agree with Graham your Exterior Wall definition is all kinds of wrong ( build it just like in the real world) but I am not sure it is the cause of the crashing issue..... M.

New in X11, in the new Line Styles Management Tool you can now delete, purge etc Linestyles you don't want in any Plan, you can also create and copy existing ones as well, as the old Create Linestyle Tool was removed in favour of this new Tool. We can also save linestyles to the Library , so they can be Exported from there like any other Item, but they export as .calibz so not usable in other CAD Programs AFAIK. The Import Tool is so you can bring in Linestyles from say AutoCad or ArchiCAD etc if desired. M.

I didn't bump the Specs as I thought you were trying to stay around $1800 now..... Looks good though but double check as I thought the 512GB NVME ( vs 256) was a bonus add-on when I looked last night? ie free upgrade. *** do you need a wifi anf BT in a desktop? itt's not a fast one as it is only 1X1 not 2x2 if the Router/modem is in the same Room it will be faster with a Ethernet Cable. If it is a not cost add on don't worry about it as it will be part of the MB. M.

Nicely put Graham and was my thinking too , and the system at Dell I linked last night above seemed to have all those advantages but I am not used to Shopping systems like Dell's , so wasn't sure if I was missing something.....seemed to be better system for a similar Price. M.

It's a bit of one or the other compared to the computer in the OP....similar CPU but perhaps stronger GPU with DXR built in ....which Chief may or may not implement in the next year or two...... but (too) small SSD at 128GB and it is SATA not NVME. but Deal in the OP has finished. MarkMc is still thinking about things too and is still looking and comparing Parts at DS , and you maybe able to configure a nice system from them too , but not sure if you have changed your budget ? $1800>2500<1800 ? but Dell may have a weekend Sale Too with it being Easter? M.

Missed the earlier post..... I think it should be good for a couple of years , but maybe less upgradable in the future than say the DS "Slade" system Mark linked to earlier in the Thread which uses a mainstream Motherboard, i9 CPU I think? and slightly faster memory etc, but it is likely Okay for the Sale Price. Not sure what you have now but you may need to pickup some Displayport cables for the new 1080 GFX Card too. M.

I think you have downloaded the 2020 update only but it does not install automatically , you need to Run the Installer ( .dmg file on MAC i believe) Hopefully your "Designer" saved the File knowing you were using 2020 and not X11 or you won't be able to edit it.... till he resaves it for you or you post the plan so someone can do it for you. M.

It maybe related to the Codec being used for the walk-through , some of them use huge amounts of memory and HDD Space it seems..... I don't do them alot but use XVID or x264VFW when i do per Kirk's recommendation.....

No , both have been good for me , you sure your 1070ti only has 2GB ? ..........mine has 8GB which I thought was standard for the 1070Ti. M.

Seem to work pretty well once made into a symbol , the centering tool easily centers it on the window. Sill and Lintel are both Custom Moulding Profiles saved to the Library and applied to the Window. Made the keystone in an elevation View , Blocked the two Pieces and then "save selected as symbol" , once in Library Open symbol and set height to absolute and 80" (standard window top Height off floor) to the bottom.

IIIRC Steve you have SSA , which means the Upgrade to X11 is in your Digital locker , my guess is Greg used X11 to work on your plan as most of us are now running it. M.

Curt..... all you do is rename Barry's File and replace the Defualt .xml file in Chief's Hotkey Folder with this one.... and Restart Chief and they will be in use. perhaps just rename the existing one so you have it for back up as I did below..... Mick.

Did you have a User Library before? Have you ever downloaded the Core Libraries? ( it shouldn't ask again once it is done ) Something with the install may have gotta corrupted , what did Tech Support have you do? In Preferences , you can see the Folders and File Chief Uses normally......

I can see the User Library is empty in the Pic there is no > next to it meaning there are Folders inside..... what I don't see is the file you said you renamed with .orig. .......... it maybe the "copy" though as I suspect you copied the File not renamed it? hence no error message you needed to answer Yes too. best to check the Recycle Bin for a User_Library File file though...... M.

25kb is correct ...Here is mine , I just did it here to show you..... Your old Library has .orig on the end , if it is 25kb too then it has nothing in it either..... Which means you may have already deleted the File earlier somehow and it is in your Recycle Bin and will need to be restored.

- So you didn't have a User Library ? nothing in it ? File size should of changed if you did.... - Your old Library will have the .orig extension and SHOULD NOT BE DELETED.....at least not yet......unless it was empty per above.... - Changing the User Library should not effect the Core Catalogs unless you have done something else as well , different files in a different location.... so there is nothing in the library now? , no bonus libraries , no Manufacturers Lib. etc?

You wont see the file extension if that option is not enabled in File Explorer , it's also why you don't see the .orig either. ( needs to be like in my pic.....box UN-checked Make sure Chief is Closed when doing any of this ...it locks some Files in use

The File is new and Empty due to the renaming above....
